the only right way to play an oldschool mega man game is on a nintendo system with a rectangular contoler in hand and only two buttons under your right thumb.

easy choice.

Anything else would be uncivilized.

I would go for Wii because of the controller.  But as long as you're not considering the 360 version you really can't go wrong.  ;)
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I would think that the worst MM9 would be on the 360 just because the d-pad is the worst of the 3 controllers. The PS3 d-pad would be my second in choice. The Wii remote d-pad could be slightly bigger in its top surface area, but I think it's the best choice of all 3 systems. The classic controller d-pad is too big in my opinion.

Beat Concrete Man.

Downloaded MM9 soundtrack.

Rejoice.

Oh man the PRESSURE!!!!

I think i'm just gonna cave for the time being and play some Mega Man II on VC... wait and see if either system has any technical issues that would make the decision for me.

Really it all comes down to... Wii was the lead platform so it should be the most technically sound.  PS3 has a huge hard drive so I don't have to worry about moving stuff around...

It's a shame the Wiis design is what is causing me to consider the PS3 version...

Jewel Mans stage: you get a sliver of ground in front of the boss room entrance and spikes line the wall in front of you (above the door) and you need to reach it with a times jump from a swinging pendalum.

Oh man.  Don't tell me there's another one of those after the one I can't get past now.  Jumping off a variable speed platform moving along an arc is not something my muscle memory can help me with.

I made that jump once, and I was low enough on energy that the set of floating diamond guys shortly after it killed me.  I don't know how close I was to the end, buy you made it sound like the door was right there.  Or were you talking about the miniboss room?

It's the mini-boss room, I'm pretty sure of it.

Though the one before the boss room is even worse just in a different way.

Finally got it tonight, been working at chipping it away.  I think I've done four bosses in four hours, maybe a little less, which I don't think is bad.  So far, the stages haven't been too bad, Plug Man's was the worst, but I'm on Tornado Man, or whatever his name is, and the spinning platforms are, to me, harder than the platforms.  I'm calling it a night.

Galaxy Man, or Space man, or whomever, is easy.

I just finished all of the robot masters and now I'm onto the Wily Stages which are kicking my ass at the moment. Also I just discovered the store (yeah I know), so I bought a couple things in there to help me along.

Hopefully won't be long now until the end.

Yeah so I managed to beat all 8 bosses, and I got the "achievement" for beating them only with the mega buster at the expense of a few energy tanks of course.

I'm stuck on the first Wily stage. How am I supposed to pass the screen with the 3 lava currents? Actually delay any answer. I was reading on gamefaqs, while I was getting ready to post, about the abilities all the weapons have and believe it or not the solution to my question does not make any sense.

I blew through Plug Man's level. Plug Man himself is a different story however... those stupid little devices climbing up the walls and falling down onto me!

I did it. It took me a few tries, but all I did was to be extra quicker on the trigger and time it right.

ok so i'm in the wily stages and i found a cool lil trick vs the dragon mini-boss that was also in Magma Mans stage that i didnt know about before since i didnt have the proper weapon.

If you use the Blackhole Bomb against it, it sucks up the flames that make up its body and damages it a bit and dispatches it pretty easily, as well as looking freakin awesome!

i just happened to try it out cuz i was low on health and it worked perfectly. I checked some walkthrus to see if its mentioned and its not, so i feel happy about discovering it myself. Anyone else try this?

When I fought that mini boss initially I used all of the weapons I had which were Splash Womans Trident and Galaxy Mans Blackhole bomb. I takes about 4 BHB to defeat it.I found that out on my own.

glad to see i'm not the only one. My play style with MM is usually not to use weapons outside of the boss battles.

I dont know if its cuz i like a challenge or i'm just cheap with weapon energy lol but thats how i've always been. Like i said i was low on health when i got to him so i was kinda desperate, i really just didnt wanna die and start the level over

I typically use the Mega Buster most of the time except when the mega buster is ineffective or can't reach the enemy. If I use a special weapon typically soon after that point there is a room where you can fight enemy's that respawn or  you move in the opposite way from where you are going then head back in your current direction and the enemy will reappear.

Is it just me or is there no obvious robot leader progression?  So far I've beat four bosses and haven't found a single weapon to use against them that works better than my Mega Buster.

I thought for sure the Black Hole Bomb I received from Galaxy Man would be great against Hornet Man.  Sure, it stopped his projectiles, but it didn't really hurt him at all.  Okay ... maybe against Splash Woman's fish attack.  Nope, that didn't work very well either.  Again, it stopped the attack but didn't hurt her very much.  Perhaps Plug Man would stop her (if the original Mega Man taught us anything, it's that electricity stops water).  Nope, that didn't do **** either.  Concrete Man's attack?  It was a long shot, and (as expected) it didn't pay off).  I wound up using my Mega Buster to wipe her out.

So now that I have Splash Woman's trident attack I tried to use it against Magma Man.  Water beats fire, right?  Nope.  (In hindsight, maybe Splash Woman before Concrete Man.  Water solidifies concrete?)

I'm loving the game, but it annoys me that I don't have clue about the optimal boss order.
