Two years later, I'm still waiting for somebody to make a decent golf, baseball, and basketball game.

MLB Power Pros makes for a great Baseball game. The second one is coming up in about a month I believe, MLB Power Pros 2008. That one is sure to be amazing. Hopefully We Love Golf from Camelot will be great, and that is coming up soon as well.

While I agree that MLB Power Pros is the best baseball series EVER created, it's not what D_Average was talking about.

Exactly!

IGN actually confirmed on their last podcast, MLB Power Pros 08 will NOT use motion controls in the regular gameplay (WTF!?).  Additionally, Nintendo's own, Super Sluggers, does not use full motion for pitching and batting.  Instead, you have to have to watch some power meter on the screen, just like the gamecube version.

Nintendo loves to throw out how successful they are.  So I totally expect numbers to support that Wii Ware is a success followed by announcement of games we already know for Wii Ware, and a surprise Wii Ware announcement.

I could see Nintendo releasing Super Mario All Stars as a Wii Ware Title instead of Virtual Console, with new features added.  I don't know what new features, but ideas could include:
1)New Levels,
2)Added Power Ups to some of the games
3)Allowing (Mixing) power ups from many of the games into each other were applicable
4)Level Creation.

Though instead of a complete Mario All Stars this could just be a New Super Mario 3 Wii Ware game.

do you mean like having power ups from all games mixed up? Cuz getting a P-wing in SMB1 would be raping the game

Not every power up...but yeah.  I do.  That is why I could see it just being one game like a Super Mario Bros 3 game that adds new levels and power ups.

Well though it won't be in the regular gameplay mode, like the last one, there is a mode that takes use of it and it works quite well. I expect this will be returning, actually I'm fairly certain it is returning.

I'd rather they do like capcom and make Super Mario Bros 4 (or 5 if you consider SMW as part 4, like mentioned once before).

If not, than a All-Stars wii-make with a level editor would be pretty damn fun actually.

Super Mario World = Super Mario Bros 4
Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island = Super Mario Bros. 5
New Super Mario Bros = remake/re-envisioning of Super Mario Bros.

Just my take.

Super Mario World = Super Mario Bros 4

But that was the game which began a long trend of Luigi being absent from Mario's adventures. You can't consider it Mario Bros. if it doesn't have Luigi in a equal footing with Mario.

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Speaking of Luigi, maybe they'll announce Luigi's Mansion for the Wii.  Using the Wii mote as the vacum.

I would be so happy if they did. Some people mentioned this possibility here months ago, but I've heard of no such intention and I wouldn't consider Luigi's Mansion "hardcore" (but for that matter I tear apart all ideas of casual and hardcore) enough for a sequel, but I would jump around for it. Maybe a Wii sequel could be eventually come down the pipes, I wouldn't complain.

Was he? Seriously? It's been quite a few years since I last played that game, but I only remember it as a strictly Mario affair (with the help of Yoshi, of course).

Yeah, I remember some quote by Miyamoto or someone where they hinted at their eventually being more Wii-makes of old GC games. Luigi's Mansion would work great with the Wii controls, but I doubt I would get that because I beat the GC version not that long ago. I'd really prefer they just made a sequel to it...

Yep, it wasn't until Super Mario RPG and Mario 64 that Luigi started to be passed up.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island did not have Luigi in it.

Actually, it did, but you were rescuing him not Peach.

Many people don't count that as a true Mario sequel because it changed the game drastically, but I consider it still because it is called Super Mario World 2.  Nintendo wanted it considered a sequel in the franchise.

That's arguable, they could've been (and most likely were) just cashing in on the brand name to push a new type of game.

Well you rarely played as Mario anyway, so I don't think it was much of an issue there. In fact, it worked very well for the ending too with how Luigi was used and how it was all played out... I know I had a different impression of who Baby Mario was the first time I played the game until beating it.

Okay, I remember it a little better now. So I guess you could rightly count World as a successor in the Bros. lineage, but that was really the last one until New Super Mario Bros. appeared.

BTW, this is slightly offtopic, but does anyone remember if Luigi was present at all in Super Mario Land for the original GB? As I recall, that game was pretty cool and played just as well if not better than the original NES Bros. game, albeit with the spinach graphics. But I can't remember if Luigi was in it or if it was a multiplayer game. Because maybe this was the first game where Mario and Luigi started to split apart from one another.
