They are going to announce the Zelda FPS game which Miyamoto gave us a taste of with Link's Crossbow training. Trust me, folks, Nintendo is going to do something drastically different with their Zelda franchise. Expect the unexpected...

Oh yeah, and Icarus and hopefully a Wii Punch-out game too.

Maybe they could give Reggie a sidekick, a guy to polish Reggie's boots before and after he kicks asses and keep track of all the names Reggie took. He could be eleven feet tall and have the strength of 17 men but never speak, only roar like an angry puma.

I think you have it wrong. Reggie's assistant will be a miniature version of himself, and will be played by the same actor who played Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies.

But in all seriousness, isn't Reggie cool enough to warrant his own video game franchise? I can't help but wonder what genre a Reggie-based game would fall under (assuming Nintendo actually made something like that).

They really should do that, it could be Nintendo's first big WiiWare game. The first thing that came to mind is gameplay in the style of Zelda 2. Overworld exploration to find the 8 people whose asses you must kick to retrieve their names. The names, recited backwards in the precise order will unleash the beast that will destroy UbiSoft.

Hopefully Nintendo doesn't flood WiiWare with their own games. Nintendo can make a couple, but WiiWare is already a healthy place for third parties, and I'd hate for Nintendo to disrupt that.

I just think that restraint on Nintendo's part would go a long way to winning third-party support. They don't have to be number 1 EVERYWHERE ya know...

Nintendo has been showing restraint throughout this generation and 3rd parties are still treating Wii like crap.

Yeah, it seems like all Nintendo needs is a SD or better storage/play solution and any one of the following hardcore games:

Pikmin, F-Zero, Star Fox, Kid Icarus

and most Nintendo fans would be reasonably pleased.

Considering how Pikmin, F-Zero GX, StarFox Assault, and Kid Icarus sold, there must not be that many Nintendo fans.

The real customer base wants MOAR ZELDA, MOAR MARIO PARTY.

I don't think how well a game sells on an unpopular console is a good indication of it's sales potential.  If the Gamecube was the number one console last gen do you figure they would have sold so poorly?  At the same time there were PS2 games that were very successful on the market leading console but might not have done so well as Gamecube exclusives.  The issue is that no one bought the Gamecube PERIOD.  So I think on a market leading console like the Wii all Nintendo franchises have better sales potential.  They have a clean slate.

Plus Star Fox on the Gamecube DESERVED to sell poorly.
