as long as the games are under 20 bucks i will be happy.  some need to be cheaper than others but for the most part the AAA wiiware games need to be under 20.

Did you consider that there might be a connection between the two sentences in that post?

LMAO!! I totally misssed the first sentence. Wow... 1,000 apologies to you!!
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

We'll see, so far I see a bunch of games that look like they are low-budget flash games.

There happen to be some low budget flash games that I would LOVE to see fleshed out, just so you know. Alien Hominid was still one of my last best times on the GC. And I've seen some amazing concepts in WarCraft III or even StarCraft maps where the gameplay is so compelling that they're begging to be given independent releases.

Heck, I think I'd pay good money for a decent Cat & Mouse game... or a game of Kodo Tag.

I was looking forward to Crystal Chronicles until I found out what kind of game it is. Not my cup of tea.

I expect WiiWare to give us some solid titles. It might be a good alternative to all the garbage coming to retail. I don't expect Nintendo to release anything like a new 2D Mario or Metroid since they could just package it as a DS game and charge $35.

I bet you the DS game in a case like that would be more expensive to produce though.  They could do that, but I would think it's the Wii that would get boosted up more by a proposition like that than the DS would.  What's the limit, 64MB?  New Super Mario Bros wasn't even that.

I'm actually quite interested in this FF WiiWare game. I mean, have you never wondered what it's like to be on the oither side of a quest? To be the king, the ruler, the person who has to sit back and send heroes out to die to clean up your messes? Anyways, I hope it isn't nearly as random as sending out characters on explorations in FFT was.

You just have to deal with the heroes grieving widows.

Maybe. Nintendo generally doesn't spend a whole lot on development which works incredibly well for them. Spend a little, make a lot. Nintendo could easily make New Super Mario Bros. 2, for example, for WiiWare. They'd probably make more money on DS, but you're right, the Wii would benefit far more from something like that.

I don't think memory is an issue either. Super Mario 64 was what, 16MB? Ocarina of Time was 32MB. People gave Nintendo crap for using cartridges, but if you ask me, they did a lot with what they had. I think the same principle applies here. 512MB isn't a lot of space, you could fit some decent sized game on there (even with a 64MB limit). On top of that, if you look hard enough, you can get SD cards cheap. I got a 2GB card for $20.

I'm hoping for great things on WiiWare and I think there's tons of potential here, if devs are willing to put forth the effort. What I'm really looking forward to is a return to a time when gameplay was the most important part of a game. That's really what's going to sell these games because there isn't enough room to fit tons of voice acting or CGI. Again, I look back to the N64 when developers (well, mostly Nintendo themselves and Rare) did a lot with a little.

I think this is dumb as Zelda wii has no editor.
and I bought wii just for Zelda

The remote is nice but man a pain to get tone, all the time and I used like 3 sets of batteries to play Zelda id rather have a power cord

All Mickey mouse games were a dream can be made...can look at it as a joke or the fact people will see your work. It will keep every 1 on there tows,

I think wii is very raw and needs to be sharpened up!

sorry u got more than i exspected

the n64 used cartridges so it would be easier to fight piracy.  don't believe any other reason any one tells you.  that's also why the game cube had the smaller disks.

but to be honest the more i think about it I'm betting that wii ware is going to have a big boom of sales at launch... then trickle off a little.  but by this time next year were going to see a steady stream of games coming in that are... top notch. (as far as wiiware games could go.

Well I thought I'd bump this and say it looks like my pessimism was WAY off. Now that I've seen many of these games in action I cannot be anymore excited for Wii Ware which looks to blow Live Arcade out of the water. It will probably make me broke when I buy all these games. So you can laugh at me, because I think it is safe to say I was WRONG (Thankfully).
