Official Nintendo's Game Lineup Discussion Thread
« on: February 21, 2008, 11:01:55 PM »
I admit that at first I wasn't that excited for MK Wii, especially with Brawl right around the corner. But after reading the new info I am pumped!

Although, does anyone still believe that we will be getting the game on April or May? Seems to good to be true, and Nintendo likes to even its big releases so that there's no direct competition. Releasing MK Wii right after Brawl and just before Wii Fit seems very silly.

It has to be April...They aren't just going to leave a whole month open with no games whatsoever...The fact that the April date is confirmed for Euroland also seems to point to a similar date everywhere else...

Great.

Great.

That's the thing, after MK Wii  and Wii Fit, what else do they have? This is why I find the April release to be a weird one. Nintendo likes to release one big game per season. With Brawl, Wii Fit and MK Wii this means that it will be the first time Nintendo has released a big game one after the other in the off season...

So this is why I expect the game to be delayed and be released in Summer. Nintendo wouldn't leave a gap that big in between releases...

I hope the game is delayed to the summer, it'll give me more time to whore out Smash.

Hmm I'm not sure what to think, but I would like time to work on Brawl.  Maybe it should just become the best Mario Kart ever.

To do that basically take the MKDS add the N64 Rainbow Road and the N64 blue shell(the DD and the DS blue shell is lamerz) and bam there you go.

Wii Fit isn't a game. :P

I'm not too worried. Nintendo always has titles to release. Just because we don't know about X or Y, doesn't mean they aren't coming.

In terms of releases for the second half of the year, Mario Stadium Baseball and Disaster: Day of Crisis are likely, as are Wii Music, Kirby, and Animal Crossing, which Nintendo confirmed as coming out in Japan before the end of this year. The problem there is that you have a bunch of (hopefully) solid titles, but not one big game to anchor the holiday lineup around.

Wii Fit isn't a game. :P

Tell that to Nintendo, who is spending millions of dollars on it...

In all seriousness, I know Wii Fit is a completely different title from Brawl and MK Wii, but it IS being advertised as being one of Nintendo's biggest titles. So the fact that Nintendo is planning to release three big titles so close to each other makes me wonder if a delay will eventually happen...

2008 looks like the end of core gaming from Nintendo.

Maybe 3rd parties are picking up the slack.... hahahahaha....

Seriously though, we're still in February. There's plenty of time to announce games though with Microsoft and Sony having pretty strong games planned for the end of the year, I wonder what Nintendo is waiting for.

Games I think they could make that would help _a lot_ this year:

New Donkey Kong Game like the N64 game.
New Kirby's Dreamland (Hasn't even done the transitioned to 3d yet, Kirby 64 doesn't count. It wasn't a full 3d environment.)
New Star Wars Rogue game
New Star Fox(hey I actually liked Assault)

Third Parties that would help if they were exclusive:
New MegaMan game(No spin-off!)
New Street Fighter game

Spin-offs wouldn't help and games that aren't real established with hardcore and the general base such as Pikmin or battalion Wars would help either.

Disaster Day of Crisis will probably be the only high-profile november release this year.

I think we usually get a surprise per year. I'm not entirely sure what a High Profile game is, but I kinda doubt it would be nearly as effective as any of the games I mentioned.

That is a sweet avatar bugz

Oh great, pap fed Pro and now he's grown out of control!

I'm not the only one who has been feeding Pro, though. Nearly every thread has him saying "Nintendo is killing gaming", or 'This game lacks heart' or any type of trolling he can come up with. In  all honesty, I don't know where the joke ends and the seriousness begins.

But aren't we going off topic, though? The NWR gods don't approve of that... O.O

Well some kind of new donkey kong that isn't a lame spin-off, but a real DK game.

I loved the multi player in DK64.
