I'm in quite a predicament, a friend of mine has gotten me something for christmas, and she has given me a hint as to something I've asked for within a month.
I fear that by mentioning Super Mario Galaxy, she may of gotten the impression that's what I wanted. She has already ordered it and shipped to me.

I don't know what to tell her, I'd hate for her feelings to be hurt. I would be ecstatic about this game, however... I do not own a Wii which makes matters worse.

What should I do?

If it is Galaxy, awesome. Doesn't matter if you have a Wii or not because I'm sure eventually you will and this will be one of the best games to own on it.

I don't think she would've also gotten me a Wii, Although I never mentioned of having one and at this time I cannot afford to get one.
She lives in NJ, I live in FL.

I don't know what to think.

It's still Mario Galaxy. Cracking open the case and breathing in the scent of the game manual should be gift enough. Inhaling the new-game scent of the disc should be a heady experience in and of itself. Putting the case next to the computer so that you can gaze at it every hour of every day.... that's the miracle of Christmas.

And the great thing is it'll be even better when you get a Wii. You can jokingly mention that in passing, winking at her smugly after having thanked her profusely.

I don't know about that Vudu, I still think that would hurt her feelings. And I don't know about returning it since it was ordered online, so I have no idea yet where she ordered it from.

Be a man.

You really only have 3 choices:

(1) Buy a Wii
(2) Lie to her
(3) Return the game

You don't seem to want to do 1 or 2, so that leaves return/exchange the game. Most shipments come with a packing slip that can be used for returns.

I agree, tell her the truth, that you really appreciate it and did want it but since you don't have a Wii, you can't use the gift at the moment and would like to exchange it. No harm, no foul. If you can't get by with this, then you need to rethink this relationship, whatever type it is.

I am assuming that you will get a Wii in the future, keep the game. If she asks about it, act embarrassed like you should do and say you don't have a Wii to play with it right now. Then tell her you love her.

Never ever get a gift from your girlfriend returned for something else. EVER. It is always the thought that counts. Also it is SMG.

Sure, why not. But back to the matter at hand. She hinted that it's something I've asked for. And I've gone through my e-mails from the past month, and the only thing that I know is
mention of the new mario game I wanted to try. However I think she means that, and I have no idea what else it could be. I asked curiously if it was a wii, apparently it's not.

I just don't know what it can be other than Mario, there was nothing else I asked/mentioned to her, and I didn't mean for her to take the context out as if I wanted galaxy. Time will tell if that's what she got. I fear it may be.
