Oh my, how cute! ^_^

(But I'd watch out, your one daughter looks like she wants to eat the new addition to the family in that second picture! )

You really shouldn't take your little girl to the tanning salon at that age, or she gets burned like that. Hehe j/k. Congrats.

Just curious, what's the age split between all your daughters?

About a year and a half. The eldest is 3 (September) and the middle is 20 months (2 in March). We planned it that way so they can stay pretty much in the same group. If there's a fourth (gotta try for the boy) it may be further down the road. We'll see.

Congrats, Bustin98.  We're still debating once we have ours if we want to wait 2 or 3 years before having another.  Also thats some serious bling of rings your wife is sporting on her finger.

You couldn't have picked a worse time to have a kid.  Kids should be born in the summer when there are no good games coming out.

Er, I mean, congratulations!
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Hmm... interesting... my brother and I are 21 months apart and we grew up pretty close, but add a third kid into the equation and I don't know what'd happen. Plus you have GIRLS. Three of them... aren't you sort of scared of your future parenting challenges? lol.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Yes, this has seriously cut into my Guitar Hero 3 playing. At least I have to wait till Christmas for Mario Galaxy, as long as it doesn't continuously sell out everywhere...

Kairon, I am really out-numbered, but I predict some tomboy characteristics to come into play in a few years I play while mommy just watches so they get some bonding time with me. Of course once the hormones get going I think I'll be spending a week of every month 'somewhere else'. I hear when girls live together their cycles get in synch with each other. At least its a theory I can see first hand.

15 years down the road.

Plenty of time to get used to the idea.

Yessireebob.

And I come from a family of 3 boys, 18 months between the middle one and me, while the youngest one is almost 5 years younger than I. It took a long time for me to stop looking at him as the baby of the family. He turns 30 next month.

"You couldn't have picked a worse time to have a kid. Kids should be born in the summer when there are no good games coming out."

If anything he's found a perfect time to have a kid.  Natalie's birthday will coincide with major videogame releases thus allowing her to get the recently released videogame she's been waiting for for months as a birthday present.  Though she is, you know, a girl so she might not be so grateful for that but bustin didn't know that at the time.  He could have had a boy in which case this timing is perfect.

Though a house full of girls would scare the hell out of me.  I come from a family of all boys.  I don't care if I have 20 kids, I well reproduce until a son pops out.  It has nothing to do with male-dominated culture or anything like that.  It's just what I'm familiar with.  My brothers and I all turned out okay so I can copy my parents "strategy" for raising kids.  If I had only girls not only would it all be unfamiliar territory but my parents aren't used to it either so I can't get advice from them.  My Mom has three sisters but she also has one brother and I think that made a world of a difference.

Congratulations by the way.

I'm not so sure that you can copy your parent's strategy all the time. I figure I was a relatively manageable, active yet controllable kid, so my parents sorta lucked out there. But what if MY kid turns out to be a total spazz?

Times change, making things that our parents did not work in today's world. My parents never had to make a decision over whether or not to give me a cell phone. And I have been sitting in the front seat of cars since I was 6. The only thing I'm concerned with is providing a solid foundation for the rest of their lives. And a love of all things Mario

"And I have been sitting in the front seat of cars since I was 6."

Same here.  When I was a kid you were out of the baby car seat when your younger sibling was born and they got it.  We had two kid seats: a baby one and a toddler boostseat (which would be illegal to sell now).  You advanced as the younger brother outgrew the existing seat.

People at my work have their 10 year old kids in kid seats.  Those kids are in GRADE FOUR!!  Nobody in my school in even grade one was in a car seat.  My grade four class would beat up a grade four class of today for being sissy wimps.  I think by law kids have to be in a kid seat until 12 years old or they go over a certain weight.  I was in high school when I was 12.  Of course I find such a law stupid.  Just because you're over 12 but aren't heavy enough you're suddenly safe to ride a car like a normal person?

My kids will not be in a kid seat at 12.  In fact I imagine my kids will be exceptionally tough compared to their peers as these days kids seem to be raised to be wimps in a over protective Nerf world.  I did not have a dangerous childhood and yet the playgrounds I played on and the toys I played with all get portrayed like deathtraps these days.  OMG my trampoline didn't have a protective net around it!  It's a miracle I'm still alive!

Though bustin is right about stuff like celphones and, of course, the internet!  No one had the internet when I was a kid.  My kids will think I'm some old dinosaur from the 20th century?  OMG dad is so old he's from a different millenium!  Naturally you have to adapt but I think looking at what your parents did should help.  One thing that I liked as a kid was that my parents were remarkably reasonable about things (usually).  I was given a reason for why I shouldn't do things and usually it was logical stuff like "you can get seriously hurt" or "that would really hurt someone's feelings".  There was no "just because I said so" stuff.  My parents didn't spoil me and punished me when I was bad but never abused me either.  Stuff like that is never going to not make sense with the times.

QFT. I have two little sisters.

one of them is 18 now and so i stay out of her business, but i remember this one time i had to toss some naked dude out of our house. i didnt literally throw him.. i mean, he was naked so of course i didnt want to touch him.. but i did get him out of our apt and into the hallway compleetely bare assed and threw his clothes out the window... if i wasnt old enough at the time to be looking at some serious jail time i would of done more physical harm to him, but it was fun none the less.

now i have my newly discovered younger sister (long story, she's not like a long lost relative i didnt know about or anything but she's back in my life now) and she's only 14 and i cant WAIT to intimidate.. err... i mean meet her boyfriend..

but anyawy, back to you bustin98, CONGRATS! "generic compliment!" "talk about 'bustin makes me feel good, eh?? ;-)"

but seriously, thats great that you're bringing new life into this world which you'll be sure to love all things Mario... as long as she's not a "non-gamer" im happy for you

Congrats man! Make sure she grows up very open minded and accepting . I guess that should include all races, religions and so on, but first and foremost make sure she enjoys all types of games. Don't let her hate anything!

Kidding aside, im happy for you!
