I know it's childish, but that shows the shiznittlebangsnipsnapsack. I gave that show a chance, and now I love it.

First episode of Book III premiered last Friday. For 9 weeks (half the season) they'll be playing 8:30 p.m. on Friday; or if you have a social life, 12:00 p.m. Saturday on Nick.

I enjoy it.  I bought Season one on DVD for like $15... watched parts of Season 2... started recording recently to catch up and get in with the new season.

Ohh.. I thought you were talking about YOUR avatar..

About the show - my little cousin in England absolutely loves it, so when I was visiting I watched it with him. It doesn't seem too bad..

The show grew on me. At first I dismissed it as being a pathetic attempt at a serious, anime cartoon. But when I saw a couple of episodes not only were they enjoyable it was quite deep! The story is cliche at times but its quite enjoyable. It makes you want to see more.

I was glued to the TV during the season two finale and couldn't wait to see what happens now.

But I wonder, if they make a season 4 does this mean that the show will end? By then Aang should have mastered all bending arts and defeated the Fire Kingdom, unless they create a season 5 and they are STILL fighting the Fire Kingdom...

Well part of the Avatar methos is that after one dies (while not in the Avatar state), another one is born elsewhere. So technically, they can make the story ever lasting. Though if Aang dies, then so does the Airbender race.

I'm a fan and this season is going to be EPIC.

It is my understanding that the arc that involves Aang will be over after this season and the creators will start a new arc with new characters in the same world.  After the Avatar masters all four elements and saves the world by defeating an entire nation how could his next task possibly compete?  I get the feeling that the execs will be putting a lot of pressure to reuse these characters despite their story being complete though.

I like most of the voice actors (saka, aang, soku, and uncle), but I wouldn't mind seeing new characters. Although, I think they should reuse aang like they reused Avatar Roshi.

which is weird, cause if Aang did die, what would happen when they got around to an air bender in the elemental cycle of avatars?

Perhaps... Aang could procreate with someone else - keeping the Air tribe blood alive?

I never even thought of that. Still, when it came back around to airbenders it would be 3 generations down the line.

One thing I can't stand about this show is the scheduling. Early on, I couldn't keep up with when the new episodes aired, so I'd miss them. But then, I'd try to catch the reruns, but it'd only be like the same 3 episodes. I really wish I'd been able to keep watching because I saw one episode and was confused as **** trying to piece together what'd been going on since the last time I watched it, which was a while ago.

Still a good show.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal was with the scheduling.  I set my DVR to record every episode of Avatar and it never caught anything (even reruns).

Then, I was reading that new episodes were airing, so I ended up watching them online (yeah, I suck) only to find out they hadn't aired in the US until this past week.  Thankfully, my DVR thought worthy to record this week's run.

I wish the season sets would go down in price.  $50 is way too much and I still need to pick up season two.

It's a little slow right now........I suggest downloading a torrent. I saw the finale, but I'm downloading it any (at 150 k/b mind you).

Wow.  Third season took forever to finish.

What'd everyone/anyone think about it?

First of all, the series is not over. There is still going to be a season 4.

Second of all, HOLY ****! That was the best ending ever. Everything that I wanted to happen, happened. This show is the greatest. Hopefully the movie will capture a fraction of the shows greatness.

I don't think spoiler warnings are necessary, but just in case...
Everything I've read says that the creators are finished telling the story of Aang.  Apparently, there have been talks of a "Season 4", but if it happens, it'll feature a different cast of characters in a different time frame (idle speculation on future characters or past characters?).  While it would be a continuation of the general Avatar storyline, the series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is, supposedly, over.  Season four would be treated as a new series, similar to how several different Transformers series can be related, but still be different shows.
