Balls of Fury (aka how not to waste money at the movies)
« on: September 01, 2007, 02:18:50 PM »
Don't see Balls of Fury. Just don't.

Talk about disappointing, it wasn't funny . . . just plain wasn't funny. There were 2 haha moments but that was it. Overall it was just a very poor film.

I wouldn't recommend seeing it to anyone.

I was actually going to see this with a friend tonight, but then she changed her mind and said she wanted to see Stardust...Looks like it was a wise decision! (Great movie, by the way!)

You are ignorant. How do you know the movie is really bad without actually seeing it?

If they can snip som of the funniest moments drom a comedy to put into the trailer and it still doesn't look even remotely funny....
chances are that the movie is not going to be funny in the way that you would want it to be("HAHAHA I paid $10 to watch this in the Theater and it was worth every cent" Hilarious). But it might still make a decent rental to make fun of the movie while watching it(drunkor high) with friends.

Yeah but according to king Evan making your opinions based off of stuff like previews and such makes you ignorant. I mean sure the movie may not look funny to you but how do you know for sure?

I'm just letting you know so you can better yourself.

I'm not picking on you BlacknMild, just making a point.

The preview sux, the jokes look tired and played, and based on those two things alone I would rather wait till its on DVD.
How would that make me ignorant?
Sounds like I know how to better manage my time and my money than those that wasted theirs on seeing this movie.

I'm just letting you know so that you can be less wasteful in the future.

Time = money, so if you know how to manage one you should do well with the other.

If you want comedy, go watch Rush Hour 3. I didn't take the movie seriously at all (wasted) and it was the best comedy of the year, with superbad right below it (even though superbad really isn't that funny a second time; which is weird because comedy movies in general are funnier a second time through).

Oh and by the way, I don't pay for movies unless the trailer makes it look really good or is a very highly anticipated sequel. Otherwise, the internet is my friend.

I walked in on my roommate stealing Rush Hour 3. Ended up watching it. It... really... wasn't funny....

I also had my roommate tell me the entire plot of Pirates of the Caribbean 3... and I hated it... If I watch the movie, I'll probably hate it more than I hated 2.

I'm re-watching Rush Hour 3 right now, and your right....It really isn't that funny.

I'm glad my policy of being crunk or at least high whenever watching a movie in the theaters helped me have a great time when I saw it; otherwise I would have severely disappointed.

I remember watching Pirates 2 drunk, stoned, and tripping and I thought that movie was awesome (especially when they introduced SquidMan). After watching it again, that movie sucked too (though not as bad as three).

Yeah I agree about Rush Hour 3, I liked the first 2 but for some reason I did not like Rush Hour 3, it seemed like greatest hits from the previous two movies and was quite stale.

I really liked the Rush Hour movies and 3 seemed a bit bland.  I did like the Game Of Death Homage though.  Sadly I went to see Balls Of Fury earlier with a friend.  So very boring, Maggie Q was hot though.  Although that doesn't really justify spending 8 dollars.

It does. And you can't. Case in point: the previews for Hot Fuzz made the film look terrible.

The did the same with The Bridge To Terebithia.  I remember reading that book in school and the commercials made it look like Chronicles Of Narnia.

Kairon, are you going to go see this one?  It has Christopher Walken...

I'm probably going to see it, solely because of that, despite some of the reviews.

Nah. I might stick it on my Netflix list, but I'm DEFINITELY gonna decline a friend's offer to go watch this movie.

Nope, I'm holding out for Resident Evil 3. I'm a Mila Jovovich fan.

Seeing Christopher Walken in it was one of the main reasons I went to see it . . . but he doesn't help the film at all.
