Nintendo Getting New Ad Agency

Karmarama will be the new force behind Nintendo's creativity in advertising.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=14153

Advertising agency Karmarama will soon be in charge of Nintendo's $26.5 million advertising account.  Marketing Week magazine got the scoop, stating that the firm has apparently won the account over three other ad agencies.  Some of Karmarama's previous and current clients include Amstel Beer, Goodyear Tires, the History Channel and CNN.

The appointment of Karmarama comes after Nintendo's previous agency, Leo Burnett, declined to renew its deal with Nintendo.  Leo Burnett had been with Nintendo since 2000, and helped oversee the GameCube, Nintendo DS and Wii launches.

Thank God.

Nintendo ads have always seemed . . . I dunno not that great as of late. I will miss the "Wii would like to play" guys though.

Changing Agency doesn't mean the campaign will change right away but, it could.

Though $26.5 Million seems awfully low to me.   Even if thats just for the States.

Agreed. Nintendo should put some of it extra earnings in the budget. They don't actually need better commercials, just more of them.

I've started seeing more commercials for the first Brain Age as of late...  I'm in Canada, and I've never seen any advertising for the game before.

I fully agree, considering that covers both the systems and first party games (and probably most things they publish as well).

This means no more masterpieces in Nintendo advertising like the "Who are you?" campaign! Hooray!

Although, the Touch generation ads, the Brain age ads and the Wii ads were really good.
