As saw on Hero's.  The demo came out today and while I'm on the fence on the game itself the Demo will iron some of that out.  Its almost a gig.  Once its done I'll probably play some and leave a mini-impression.

Wait, GP you have PS3 too?  I thought you just sold the one you got if memory serves...
You want to try to chat or pass messages or something if you do have one.  I like to try that out.

I'm definitely curious to hear more about this.  It looks cool, but the question is if there's more to it than arena after arena of fighting?
That's my opinion, not yours.

Well back when it first came out I sold it on ebay, but 2 weeks ago I bought one with Resistance (which I found extremely disappointing).

I don't hate the PS3 I just don't like highly priced gaming machines with no games on them =) It'll take some games to get me interested in PS3.

Also I hear the demo is only 5 minutes long and disappointing according to users on Kotaku.

Just like Alien Syndrome!

But yeah, I'm VERY eager to hear your guys' impressions on this game. God of War successor? Anchor to Sony's strong fall line-up? Inquiring minds need to know!

and DVD Upscaler and Media Streamer and PS2.  Also if you use it for Multimedia definitely buy the remote.  Its great.  I get tons of use out of it.  I wish more things then just Game Consoles used Bluetooth remotes.

Anyways, after it took forever and a day to download, a gig come on, I played it a little bit.  The ropes where cool but then I got to fighting the enemy and well I know they were going for a God of War feel with the combat, its obvious, but the enemy has shields that they just hold up and you can't do a thing to them and you have nothing really and I couldn't figure out how to jump.  I'll hit it tomorrow.

Now on the flipside watching the RE5 trailer in HD and the new MGS4 gameplay trailer was cool, even though I still don't see the point of the game.

I only got a little time in on the demo this morning before heading to work.  It's definitely a tap the buttons like mad action game, but it is pretty cool.

Am I the only one that felt like the frame-rate was off?  The animations seemed really jerky...

When fighting yes but I was more distracted by how my attacks were doing squat.  Though the three modes of attack have potential.

Then you're not experiencing real HD. You need an HDMI cable to see the TRUE power of the PS3! ... and that'll bump you up neatly over the $600 mark.

$680.40.   $60.45 of that is Tax.  What I got for all that.
  • 2 extra years of coverage after the Manufactures warranty, which is currently a year.
  • 1 extra controller, which I'll probably return because I don't think my wife will want to play and I like to find a controller with not as high analog sticks
  • PS2 Mem Card adaptor
  • Bluetooth Remote (Did I mention that this is awesome)
  • PS3 60 Gig (duh)

Then add another ~$30 for the Intercooler.

Not to to bad considering what the alternative was for me. (PS2 + Cheapest Blu-Ray Player is about $520 and then building a little computer to stream media would be $200 at least (Video card with component adapter and the remote be the big thing)) Then I get my 5 Blu-Ray movies that negates about $120 of it right there.  Already had the optical and component cables from my busted PS2.  My biggest complaint so far is that my CRT has a problem with overscanning from component.  Which is annoying when watching Anime so I really like a universal screen resize feature.

I still think I might return the extended warranty but I wanted to get it why I had 3 months deferred payment and the PS3 still had a PS2 in it.

For the record I'm getting more use out of the PS3 then my Wii since I've gotten it.  Hopefully they'll be more games for the Wii soon to distract me away from watching stuff and catching up on RPGs.  Definitely not a purchase for everyone but for my needs it made a lot sense.  Though the timing could have been a little better.

Plus it makes a great space heater as well :P

    Start Heavenly Sword Stuff:
Now back to Heavenly Sword.  Did the Demo again today.  It is really short.  Their is potential here.  Though I hope this isn't the control scheme they have settled on in the end.  I would like to be able to jump and block.  Jumping I could sort of live without but manual blocking I would really like.  GoW had it for this style of play, which it is very similar, and it was their for a reason.  The three modes as I said are neat though I have mix feelings if I want her to start like she is in the Demo.  If so I really don't see how they can progress the character and keep things fresh.  Thinking back I think the Demo was actually just the portion played on Heroes.  Also another thing to note you can pick up stuff and throw it.  One of those things is knocked out people.  Funny but not very useful.

No taxes from Amazon.  And I would have bought one anyway when LBP and FF XIII come out.  Now I can play FF XII and all my other ps2 games on a system that makes them prettier too.

    It all makes sense.
