I'd MUCH rather see an ORIGINAL space-shooter. One that's not restricted by the Star Wars license, I mean, c'mon, they already covered the movies best battles.. What are going to have now? The best battles from the various obscure comics?

Bah.

I agree as well, an original space shooter, with a better story and cut scenes, would be more fun.

They should make it bigger.
More variety, more adjustable difficulty.
Better graphics (OMG imagine the graphics, Factor 5 are the graphics king).
And it must have multiplayer.

I might just buy this one  even though I never finished the first one.
I liked the first one but found it too difficult.

aside from the Graphics to improve (which is a given considering Factor 5's obvious talents in this area of game development), more missions, more unlockable secrets, more variety of ships, control of capital ships for inter-capital ship battles, more feedom to screw around, ground and sky and space battles as well as a much more coherent storyline that expands on the SW universe we all know and love, I would like to see Closed Captioning included in this game.  I am a deaf gamer (28 yrs old and lost it 5 years ago due to severe tinitus) and I know plenty of Deaf gamers of all ages (practically my girlfriend's entire graduating class) who would welcome this type of thing in videogames.
We have it on our television shows, in our DVD and video taped movies and serials and very sorrily in the theaters (there is much debate as to whether hearing ppl would mind having the captions on the big screen while watching a movie).  Its about time its included in videogames.  It wouldn't have to be on all the time, just as an option for those individuals who have caption-ready televisions.  That's my two cents.

I would like to see the following in Rogue 3:Ground missions, a la Battle for Naboo; Better secrets(not that the ones in rogue 2 were bad, but I was hoping for some better ships and levels); ability to take down or at least fly by the super star destroyer seen in Empire and Jedi; More enemy missions, and real ones, not "what if" ones; a Coruscant mission, because the GC could handle that easily. That's about it.

that would be a great idea, i dont imagin it would be very easy to play rogue leader without being able to hear what they are telling you todo =\ on the other hand atleast most RPG's Action Adventure style games all have just text when your talking to NPCs (this will probably change in tomorrows games =\)

I just wish they offered us a new game

I hope this game has at least CO-OP mode or some sort of online feature to warrant the purchase. I loved Rogue Squadron when I got it at launch even though I really dislike Star Wars in general.

True... I got alot of enjoyment out of Zelda: OOT and the fighting games (which really don't require text except for the story heavy titles like Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat), though figuring out what to do next in Rogue Leader was tough.  I couldn't have gotten thru it without some online strategy guides.  I only use them if if there is no way I can figure out what to do next, after trying for at least a week.  I loved the game and hope the next one improves in this area.  It seems the games industry, when talking and talking about how much speech is in a game and then if I rent it from BlockBuster, and find that they don't have any text in it, I just can't follow what to do next.  I have no way to follow the story and glean from it what-the-name-of-Alpha-Trion to do next and for me and probably many other deaf gamers (almost every deaf person I have met owns at least 3 systems and most of them have PS2s or GameCubes, and that is alot of deaf ppl, believe you me) that hurts our enjoyment of the games and loses potential customers down the road.  I certainly hope the PLANETGAMECUBE E3 2003 DVD is captioned for the deaf and hearing impaired.  Gotta get back to my sleeping son and wake him up.  Time for lunch.

Has anyone here ever played any of the star control games?  I think it would be so awesome if you could go anywhere in the galaxy you wanted.  Kind of like a real rouge.  Also multi and online are must haves for a new Squadron game!

I have a couple comments here.  One, I'm going to get this game no matter what, I loved RSII even though I never got Ace Mode.  And two, I sincerely hope that this isn't Factor 5's amazing product they are working on.  Not that I doubt their abilities, I just hoped for an original work.

I doubt that this is Factor 5's secret game, nor i doubt that it's Factor 5's ONLY game. Thornado is bound to show up somewhere.

Factor 5 need to get out of just creating Star Wars games - they're good, but please, thay can be more creative, unless that creativeness is shown in Rogue Squadron III.

Factor 5 worked out the DIVX codec for the cube didn't they.  I wonder how they may intertwine that technology into their games to make them even more beatulful then before.  I mean DVD quality cut sceens or even gameplay graphics if they can work it out would be amazing.

Termin8: You may see the remnants of Thornado show up in a Factor 5 game, but it won't be Thornado. And I think IGN said Factor 5 has one more GCN project planned. I agree that it would be great if it was a non-Star Wars title.

adam: Yes, that was Factor 5 who got the DivX tools for the Cube.

I would love more dog-fights in this game.  In RSII I would put it in the cockpit view and shoot down some TIE's on my big-screen TV.  It was absolutely amazing.  I need that feeling more!  Also, with the new DivX technology that they recently developed, I can't wait to see their new movies in this.

Someone mentioned this eariler, but I would love to see them make a Rouge Squadron game that focused on the times of the new republic. I loved Rouge Squadron 1, Battle for Naboo, and Rouge Squadron2 and I will buy RS3 regardless wether they give us a lot of new stuff or not, but I would really like it if they gave us something different.

Like we've said earlier, and even Gabe over at PA is thinking the same- Rogue Squadron 3 needs to take place during the New Jedi Order series. You could take control of either Corran Horn, Rogue Leader at the time, or Jaina Solo, a squadron leader, and go toe to toe with the infamous Yuzzhan Vong in their Coral Skippers. Gabe also had a good idea- piloting Chiss Clawcraft.

I don't even care what the storyline is, as long as you can see lots of cool places.  There NEEDS to be a level on Coruscant.  I'd kill to play that.

I found this on IGNCube's most recent mailbag:

"How does Rogue Squadron III look?

Matt responds: You won't have to wait much longer to see for yourself. In fact, by the time you read this, a batch of images will probably be on the Internet, and if not, they'll be up by Tuesday. In the meantime, it looks phenomenal -- somehow Factor 5 has done it again. But wait until you read about how it plays. I think GameCube owners are going to be pleasantly surprised on all levels."
