Why do I have the feeling a lot of people will be disappointed when the game is officially announced...?

Kid Icarus not famous?  Yeah okay...

LOL, I call out Pro 666 on this!

There were actually two Kid Icarus games... Kid Icarus: Of Myths And Monsters was released for the Game Boy in 1991.

And what about Christmas NiGHTS?

EDIT: LOL @ myself, I am incredibly slow.  Pro was already corrected.  >_<

Star Fox: Rancher, an on-foot game where Fox McCloud settles down to run a farm and hunt for predators.  Full of on foot combat using the fantastic combat engine from Star Fox Armada.

I chuckled.

Getting serious, the mystery sequel will be...Animal Crossing.

What would most surprise and excite me would be Kid Icarus for Wii or a new 2D Metroid for DS.  If it's really a big, "famous" series, if we look at Nintendo's biggest franchises, the ones we just know will appear on Wii sooner or later, I'd wager it's either F-Zero or Mario Kart.

But the realist in me is expecting it to be a DS game in an obscure, Japan-only series that will never see a U.S. release.

Edit: I remember another famous series that's a natural for the Wii:  Pilotwings.  I'll add that to the fantasy column.

It'd be cool to get a sequel to Luigi's Mansion.
You could control the flashing light with the Wiimote and catch ghosts with your Nunchuk somehow.

It was in the Wi section, so it's a Wii game, whatever it is.

I'm likewise hoping they're not reaching into the depths of obscurity, though.

I didn't see that, but considering it's a bad translation of a German site's blurb on a Japanese magazine's teaser, I'm still not confident.  On the other hand, surely there's somebody in the English-speaking world who reads Nintendo Dream.  Where are their reports or corroborations?

I just tried to look for information on Nintendo Dream on Wikipedia, and NWR was the first result.  Imagine that.

Honestly I would love to be excited about the supposed rumor.  I don't plan on setting myself up for a big let down, bacause that's exactly what I am banking on.

Due to popular VC download demand we would like to announce "Urban Champion 2"  with 4 playable characters.

Let's see if this rumor amounts to anything...if it does, let's hope that it's for the best.

Well in the Cube game that flashlight and the vacuum were the same thing.  You stopped shining the flashlight when you sucked.

I question how much the Luigi's Mansion formula can be expanded on.  That game ended right around the time where it started to get boring.  I got a few days of fun out of it but once I beat it I had no interest in ever playing it again.  The game is infamous for being short and having little replay value so how does Nintendo expand that to a series?

But then I'm biased because I hold that game partially responsible for the Cube not catching on.

If they added a lot more puzzle solving to the formula, it could go a lot further, especially if they gave Luigi a few new tricks.  They could extend it by simply adding more mansions.  Imagine King Boo escapes and he and his Boos take over an upscale Mushroom Kingdom neighborhood.  Somehow Luigi gets sucked into strapping on the Poltergust 3000 again and cleaning up the mess.  (heh, punny)

That's a pretty cool idea.  Hell the game can just involve wandering through the Mushroom Kingdom getting rid of ghost infestations in building or different sizes and even just general areas like forests or lakes.  Then it's like an adventure game like Zelda but with the Luigi's Mansion gameplay and with the emphasis being on ghost catching.  If you have a place to explore then I think it would become much more interesting.  Damn.  Now I want this fantasy game we just made up.
