Sweet, the Wii is starting to gain momentum and now has 7 games in the top 30 alone.  Soon, it'll probably even out between Wii and DS on the number of games for each system in the top 30.

That sounds about right.  Though it may drop to 14 and 14 when the occasional new PS2 or PSP game shows up for one week, two at most.

Huge accomplishment for Nintendo today.  Gamestop.com has given Nintendo primary billing on its website.  http://www.gamestop.com/  Notice that both the Wii and the DS are now the two primary tabs on the top left.

This is a very good sign, because it shows confidence in Nintendo by Gamestop to give them top billing on their site.  Previously, this honor was reserved for the Playstation brand, and over the last year, the Xbox brand.

Nintendo did the impossible.  Retailers actually care now.  Console wars are over.  Nintendo is the winner.  They don't have to innovate anymore.

Nintendo Wii = THe Hottest Selling Console in the UK
Quote

The Nintendo Wii is on course to hit one million sales in the UK within three to four weeks, according to official sell-through figures from Chart-Track.

Currently the console is outselling the 360 in the UK by over four to one, and the PS3 by more than six to one each week. If it keeps it up, it should pass the GameCube's lifetime UK sales figure of just over a million by the end of September.

Naturally, then, its next milestone will be to overhaul Microsoft's lead in the UK - which, if the current trend continues, could be before the end of October.

Last known numbers for the UK (according to NeoGAF)

Chart Track (June 9th)

360 - 1,193,088
Wii – 618,278
PS3 – 281, 977

I like how on Gamestop the description for the Wii is, "Young or old, expert gamers or beginners, Wii players have the most fun!", while for the PS3 it's, "Also 5 Free Blu Ray High Definition movies by mail."
"I'm looking for shrunken heads w/ DVD playback options. I figure I can hang them in my car like dice. Will you help me?"
- thatguy

"Can you shoot out customizable fireballs? Then why should your Mii be able to?"

31 Flavas - you realize that Famitsu is usually posted in the DS sales thread every week. Usually on a Tuesday nite or Wed. morn.
I guess Salesbot decided to take a break this week since MC took a break till next week because of some Japanese holiday and July NPD doesn't come out till next week too.

Oh, and WiiSports will hit Diamond(10 million I think) in sales WW before the end of the year
