So we've determined that a bunch of us didn't get a Wii. Here's the new question: When does the next shipment go out? Anybody have ANY info on this?

I asked the manager at the local wal-mart and he told me between 4-5 days dunno how accurate that would be for anyone else. Nintendo promised 4 million by the end of the year and we only have about 6 weeks till the end of the year so there is good chance that most of us will be getting one in the next few weeks.

Not that it would have made a sales difference, but what is the possibility that distrubition centers withheld consoles for Black Friday? My assumption is that the answer is slim to none, but I was wondering if anyone had another opinion. The Wii would have sold on any day of the year, but I have a fool's hope that I might be able to purchase a console in the upcoming week/weeks.

The EBGames I got my Wii at (I live in Canada if that matters) told everyone yesterday while we were waiting that if they were beyond the 26th person in the non-pre-order line that they would be out of luck, but that a second shipment of Wiis was expected by Friday.

He did say that it would be a good idea for everyone to call the store every day this week at about noon to be sure. The shipment will include first-party accessories and controllers, so I may try to get that elusive extra Nunchuk from there too.

I've been told that shipments go out this week (starting today) and every week through the end of the year.

The friend who accompanied me on my own Wii GET adventure scored #4 of 6 that arrived at GameStop this afternoon. He walked in right after the UPS truck arrived and stepped up to the counter to get in line while all the people who'd been milling around in the store waiting missed their chance. Super Denial Bros. FTW!

It sure seems like it, huh! It's really cool that Nintendo is doing so much right, and that people are taking notice and showing it with sales. In two separate circumstances, I've been reminded of this:

1. On launch day, the guy behind me was a 40-year old who'd never bought a video game system before. Needless to say, he was totally stoked for Wii.

2. Yesterday at the post office, I was mailing some Ebay sales, and a guy noticed that I had a Super Gameboy. We started talking, and I fessed up that I was, with some nostalgic regrets, selling all my old video game stuff. He just chips in, "Well, it's fine because Wii has the Virtual Console." Recognizing one of my Wii brethren, my eyes light up and I say, "Damn straight it does."

(Ok, I didn't actually say that, but it makes for a more definitive end to a post than "Yup, yer right!")

Most of me is glad that Nintendo is making its way back into the spotlight, the rest of me(the part that still wants a Wii) is wishing for the Nintendo the flew under the radar in the Gamecube launch. I am probably not the only one, but Nintendo deserves a congrats on the success of the Wii in the first few days.

Actually, I should revise my last comment - the beginning of the Nintendo revival was last Christmas when DS sold over 800,000 units in one week in Japan.

But this is the point where all the hard work starts to pay off with concrete sales in the home console market.

I was #97 out of 99 on Sunday at FutureShop in their Montreal Downtown store. I was lucky - the Forum store across town had 32 units.

I walk into FutureShop Downtown today, there's a parade of people walking out with Wii's! They received a new shipment! No accessories though, I'm still looking for a numchuk.

100%. I know for a fact that my Gamestop did this, because he told me they had no idea when they were getting a shipment, but they would have consoles for Friday. I REALLY hope a shipment comes tomorrow, though, because otherwise I will have to fight a new horde at 04:00 on Black Friday.

I went to Best Buy last night and they said they expected the next shipment to come today, but I went there today and they said that it wont arrive now until Sunday now.

It seems very unlikey that I'll be getting ahold of a Wii this week.

My parents went out of town to check a Wii for me and my nephew.

They checked nearly everywhere and nearly all of them were sold out.

Walmart only had 5 Wiis on Sunday, and they were all sold.
Gamestop only had 1 Wii. Mom wanted to reserve it, but they didn't allow it.
EB games were sold out
K-mart had plenty of controllers and games, but no consoles
KB Toys supposedly will NOT bring any Wii consoles for the holidays

I hope this is because the system was just released and the next shipment will come in soon. I hope they restock ASAP and the Wii is sold out till next year

Find out when the stores recieve shipment and start pestering them after said time.
Before I got lucky the people at Circuit City told me that they recieve shipment at night so if you get to their at nine (close at 10) they might sell you one they just recieved if you ask for it despite it not being on the shelves. At least where I live they expected them Wednesday night, good luck.

Circuit City told me they won't be getting anymore until Christmas, and CompUSA said over the phone that they're backed up until January. Is this bull?
