Banjo looks like he has Down's Syndrome.

The game will suck. All of the original talent Rare had that made the first game decent is GONE.

To be a realistic those character designs are infinitely better than the original Banjo and Kazooie. Go back and look at the original...the designs were STUPID!!! Seriously. Look at the other Rare animal designed characters, and realize the models weren't that great.

That being said. These models are not great at all. It is really showing the original limits of poorly designed characters. I kinda like Banjo's face, but Kazooie is just plan silly...and that last picture that Bill posted is just scary.

I guess Banjo is using his friend as a gas powered saw or something?

lol, glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like what they have done.
Now I will admit I have never been a fan of Rare so for me its really funny to see Rare totally destroy their series and turn into a bunch of no talent losers. I was personally fine with Nintendo drop kicking that money pit to the curb for MS to pick up. StarFox Adventure wasn't that good of a Zelda clone. Grabbed by the Ghoulies was painfully bad. Conker Live and Reloaded was a decent port of a good N64 game. Kameo is an example of what happens when a game stays in development to long. just like when you leave bread in the oven to long it gets all burnt and nasty. Perfect Dark Zero was a 'Par' FPS, there was nothing special about it unlike the original, infact the best way to look at the game with out saying it totally destroyed the series was to look at it as having nothing to do with the original and being a totally new series. Viva Pinata is going to suck so bad it won't be funny, If the TV show is any indication of what the game is going to be like God help us all. And I have no faith that Banjo 3 is going to be decent, the first one was decent, the second one started off okay then got bad very fast, it was a sign to me that things at Rare weren't all right, Something was wrong.

That being said I totally agree with Bill when he says "Banjo went from a bear to a serial rapist druggie" as for Kazooie she looks like she was ripped from 'Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends'

I'm feeling better about the game after watching the trailer. It has the old sound effects and everything. You guys should watch it.

I care, but I am a Bungie fan, not just a halo fan. Halo was originally going to be an RTS and I think Bungie's previous games Myth 1 and 2 were the best RTS of all time. (If anybody here has played them say so) Since Bungie doesn't seem to be developing it the new game will most likely reek of standard rts concepts and suck.

Doesn't this announce about 3 Halo spinoff games? This series is going to be watered down extremely fast and lose the big appeal that a smart company would want to keep for the long run instead of losing it for a quick buck.

Banjo scares me.

I don't see the big deal, the banjo games werent that great to begin with, and I don't see any big change, Joahna was horribly destroyed and thats obvious, but this seems like the same honestly.

So it's confirmed, then. People (with no taste) who didn't like the original games like the new character models.

Let's go over what the changes are and why they suck.

-Banjo's nose and snout squared: pointless and ugly.
-Banjo's mouth shape changed so that it extends back along the sides of his face. This makes him more animal-like. Maybe to de-cute-ify him for the Xbox crowd. Second biggest reason for the "druggie" facial expression.
-Banjo's eyes changed to narrow slits. Biggest reason for the "druggie" facial expression.
-"Druggie" facial expression. Completely destroys his character.

-Kazooie's beak made longer. Don't really mind this one.
-Given long eyelashes. Completley destroys h-(crap, is Kazooie a boy or a girl?) character.

If they fix the character's damn eyes, that would probably be enough for me to feel that everyone's favorite wide-eyed, happy-go-lucky bear, and his wise-cracking sidekick, have come back. As they stand, these creatures are abominations, twisted imitations of Banjo and Kazooie that don't deserve their names.

Maybe because with a full year lead and a huge budget following a $4 billion loss the previous generation, they only have a lead of 4-5 million. They have had moderate success in Europe and haven't even made a dent in Japan, despite all their efforts to. In contrast, Nintendo expects to sell 4 million in less than six weeks.

Forgive me for my blunt honesty, but those complains are just lame. Its just tiny graphical details, this is nowhere near the rape of Joahna Dark. Id even say that Link in TP saw a much bigger transformation from its predecessors than these two guys.

What you call tiny graphical details looks like complete butchering of the characters to me. I'd compare it to the misshapen drawings of Link in the CDi Zelda games' cutscenes.

The problem isn't how much they changed so much as how bad the changes are. When I first saw the new Joanna Dark, I said 'oh, cool.' When I first saw Wind Waker in motion, my jaw dropped to the floor. As it did when I saw Twilight Princess. But this.....

TP Link looks awesome (AND IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER THAN THE PREVIOUS LINKS), Dark looks bad, Banjo is the worst character re-design in videogame history...It's like you'd consider taking a sledgehammer to someone's face a "tiny visual detail"...Pah!

I agree the character designs are pretty bad, but I still am holding out hope the final game is good, I've wanted a sequel to Banjo Tooie for far TOO LONG. Luckily I did enjoy Kameo, so that gives me a reason to hold out hope this game will be good when it is released for Xbox 720.

Well hopefully this game will be good but, after just watching the video, I completely agree with you guys those character designs SUCK NUTS. All I could think is WTF WHY DID THEY MESS WITH PERFECTION!?!?!? See my avatar, that is Banjo and Kazooie. Where was the personality in the video? Kazooie should've been making fun of Banjo and the Banjo shouldve done whatever he actually did do to Kazooie after she made fun of him for revenge. I'm a little scared that this won't have any of the character it used to have. None of the wisecracks, none of the funny characters, none of the damn magic. God damn you Rare, if you f*ck this game up, I WILL KILL YOU.
