They were talking about Zelda Universe on the Penny Arcade forums.  Apparently it is quite old and the speculation is that it was some flash game on one of the old Zelda web sites.

Well, if there's any one franchise of Nintendo's that could definitely be turned into an amazing MMO, it'd be Zelda. All of the different character races make for a fantastic starting point to entry. I'd be on board -- monthly fee and all.

I could definitely see the world of Hylia being expanded on, too. There's just so much one could do with this franchise as an MMO.  Same goes with Pokemon also.

Make it happen, Nintendo!

I will summarize instead:
-Some VC games get HD version made for Café like they got 3D versions on 3DS
-You will be able to transfer VC games to Café like DSi does to 3DS
-Some XBLA HD remixes will make the move

I am not surprised by this at all.  Makes sense considering the 3DS move.  Now I hope this allows for Super Meatboy to go to its original planned platform.

An HD Remix is a cheap recycling job that can get suckers to buy a game they already own for like a fourth time.  Of COURSE Nintendo is going to have that.

Though I was thinking about something when I was playing Chrono Trigger on the VC the other day.  In regards to TV formats the Wii is in the stone age.  Obviously Cafe will not be.  I figure the VC will just continue on Cafe.  But what happens with VC titles we bought on the Wii?  Aren't they going to look like balls on an HDTV?  Are they going to provide some way to upscale them?  I doubt any VC games you buy on Cafe are going to be restricted to a non-HD resolution.  So will I have to buy my old games again to get a better resolution?  How is it going to work?

Obviously retro games are going to look pixelated on an HDTV anyway but I wonder how this all going to be handled.

It looks glorious coming out of my projector.

My biggest problem with the PS3 Upscaling is that sometimes it will decide that something needs to kick down to 720p from 1080i.  Which my screen doesn't support so it will just be green and seperated.

Well that's the question.  Will it upscale or will Nintendo not offer that ability out of either laziness or ignorance?

Well Nintendo is the largest or second largest company in Japan with a handful of strong partnerships with cutting edge technology leaders and thousands of fresh-thinking Nintendo faithful hoping/wishing/praying their CVs are picked, so I wouldn't consider them ignorant of anything. I'm sure they are well aware of upscaling.

The thought of high defintion remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess are just too damn appealing. Hell, remake all the VC titles into HD and I will gladly pay for them again. Also, add in Dreramcast support and I will them as well.
