I think TechTV although it may have been a better television, doesn't have the young appeal that G4 has to bring in the MTV crowd.

Really, G4 is doing some things well and somethings horrible.

They do have programing that is interesting and better cheap to produce.

X Play

The problem with both of these shows is that every personality is freaking annoying and uninteresting. They need better hosts for all their shows.

Then they have some cool stuff on air that really is a place for geek heaven.

Star Trek Next Generation,
Ninja Warrior
That Cinema Game show that cuts gameplay footage montages is cool.

What G4 needs is better hosts, and better use of their shows. Attack of the Show is interesting, but why not push the limit with the show and either create a 2 hour show, OR break the show into smaller shows so you can get more information out.

Personally, I hope this is a Wii announcement, because I have been waiting for something cool to be announced for Wii...but that doesn't sound like a big announcement to me. Unless it is part of a bigger announcement, or they just over hyped everything.

I hate the "MTV crowd", I'm not part of that audience, which is why I used to enjoy TechTV. G4 absolutely needs to drop crap like Cheaters, the Man Show, Ninja Warrior, Star Trek, COPS, etc - all of those shows have absolutely NOTHING to do with gaming. Bring back Leo and Patrick, bring back Martin Seargant, bring back Kevin Rose - the guy showed the world how to mod their XBox on national TV, he deserves to be on the channel forever.

We have to keep Ninja Warrior that show is the new "Iron Chef" Not like the Iron Chef America that is also pretty good.

But Ninja Warrior is a legit show that is greatly entertaining on its own merit, but grows to hugely entertaining when you add the cheesy voice overs and descriptions of the contestants...just like the original Iron Chef was great for its wacky translations and voice work, but the show was still brilliant.

Don't get me wrong, Ninja Warrior is awesome, though MXC is funnier because people get hurt, and it's more "Japanese", it just belongs on another channel. Bring back Call for Help, the Screen Savers (which is actually AOTS now), etc.

Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno (who also conceived and directed Tactics Ogre [SNES] and Vagrant Story [PS1], etc...) is wrangling together some of his old pals who worked on past SRPG titlles like Ogre Battle (SNES) to piece together an exclusive Wii game very similar to Final Fantasy Tactics.

Please let this be a sequel to Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together! And I'd rather be in the vien of Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen and Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Calibur as opposed to Tactics Ogre and FFT - but I'll take what I can get. Damn I hope this is true...

64's squad based system allowed SO much more experimentation with classes.

Shift this unit here.
Move this one there.
Change her class.
Move the ansate cross to her, and add some soldiers.
Give this guy a blessed sword.

Not only did you experiment with classes, but you also experimented with squad composition and layout. You could find some absolutely unbeatable squad setups.

I can't wait for halloween this year! It's always a competition among girls. Like, let's see who can dress up the skankiest while still looking cute. So they go out and by german beer girl outfits, and little alice in wonderland outfits. Then they go out and party even harder because it's Halloween!

I swear, it's probably my favorite holiday after thanksgiving.

mm so truuuue. i used to work in a retail store that sold tons of those slutty costumes around halloween... theres nothing like having a sexy girl try on a wonder woman costume and come out and ask your opinion on it cuz you're the only guy in the store :-D

Don't act like it was just G4 that ruin TechTV cause it was sooo good that the owners had to sell it to keep their houses......

G4 was just as good as TechTV before they merge together. After they did all of G4 shows went to cr@p. Why? All of the big suit from the networks, that kept both TechTV and G4 from turning into a Nerds playground and kept them being professional, left since they thought the channel was on it's way and didn't need to intervene in anymore. (And wouldn't return as long as G4 sill had ratings.) So, as expected from a bunch of freshly out of collage frat boys who wanted to work for a VG channel and now are place in charge of it, the network turned into the G4 of now and surely will be a hardcore (star trek) porn channel by next year.....

Judgement Day had that jackass
Electric Playground was always out of date and never provided much in terms of good info
Arena had the current host of Attack of the Show (who I can't stand) and the steroid freak leatherneck
Cheat was all about how many sponsors they could squeeze in
That show that was some guy talking to video game characters was stupid

Don't act like G4 ruined Tech TV? Why not? It DID ruin tech tv. It merged. All the good shows went bye bye (aside from like X-play, if you consider that a good show) and . . . yeah. I hate G4 and I hate the merger.

I miss the old Tech TV, I used to watch it all the time. Oh well.

Judgement Day: I hated tommy too but unlike Xplay, they gave 2 review for every game. So if you're a sound/graphics whore listen to tommy score, if you like having fun to the other guy.

Arena: Never watch more than a sec of the garbage

Cheat: Wasn't all ad untill before they change, back before they gave indeath advice of game, cool codes, and were more for getting your money out of a game than helping loser get pass level 2
