I could always put a bunch of images and videos on an SD card and mess with the Photo Channel. (It was once joked that I could put porn on any device, though I've yet to do it with a toaster as someone suggested.)

Anyway, I'm glad the camera I bought before my trip to LA for E3 uses SD cards. So the first set of photos I can browse on the Photo Channel will be of me playing the Wii for the first time, six months ago. It's like one of those trippy looking-glass situations. Or something.

Well it could be Neo Geo games, or Nintendo/Sega Arcade games. Eathbound? Enhaced* Classic games in addition to the untouched originals.

I'm throwing my hat in the 'Goldeneye' ring. What else have people been asking for over the past 10 years? And I'm sure many people here are familiar with the many atempts to bring it out as a mod using various gaming engines, the most recent using the Source Engine.

What a coup if Goldeneye had online multiplayer. I'd be spastic. Of course, it would be better if the Wii-mote worked with it, but I won't be picky.

When they say things like "the virtual console is about to become a lot more interesting" I hope it's more than just one game (no matter how great) or even a series. Because unless you're a fan of that particular game or series, it doesn't really make the VC that much more interesting. Of course we're picking at semantics here but I wouldn't say it like that unless it meant some kind of new feature overall.

Like online multiplayer. How hard would it be for some "blanket" emulator feature to accept input from another person's online Wii as the 2P input? Seriously! Yet that simple thing would make a lot of games much more fun.

Maybe a whole new console. Neo-Geo and arcade games do sound like good choices but you'd think the "retro community" wouldn't be averse to using MAME because they don't have a legal alternative. Unless they're saying that this is the legal alternative they've been waiting for, but arcade purists will probably want a classic joystick then.

But there were Arcade Joysticks for the GC and I'm sure there will be Arcade Joysticks to attach to the Wiimote soon too.

I'm going to argue on the idea of online multiplayer simply because I don't think Nintendo is ready yet. I believe online multiplayer will debut with Wii games before it debuts on VC.

My guess is that it will turn out to be nothing, but if something does come of this rumour...let's see. I don't think Chrono Trigger or any other rare but actually released game is valuable to retro gamers. To me it would have to be a new system (Neo Geo) or a game that never saw the light of day in North America. I shouldn't dare to dream, but...Sin and Punishment or Mother?</fantasy>

Edit: Or perhaps it will be some type of feature. A library listing all possible VC games?

I tend to think it must be either:
1. A series appearing on VC that hasn't been revisited for a long time, such as Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana. OR
2. An unreleased (but nearly finished) game, such as Mother 3.

But blanket online play for VC games would be pretty cool too, though i'm not sure it's technically feasible.

I'm going to guess that it's not a game per se, but support for additional systems on the virtual console (ie. ColecoVision, Intellivision, Commodore 64 and maybe even Atari 2600).
