Actually Bill, having you as the Bomber's apprentice did change the ending of the game a bit. I'll explain how. I knew the B.A. could have another role and when I was thinking about who could have two roles, the only logical choice to me was Mint. That's why I didn't vote Athrun the last day. If I had, I would have been the last one standing alone. At that point, I thought it better to hide and hope Death killed the B.A. or the B.A. self-destructed and took Death and Crazy Redd. That was my only hope of victory at that point. If I had known the B.A. wasn't a real role, then I would have voted Athrun. I knew if I didn't vote Athrun, Crash would be the one voted out even though he shouldn't have been a choice. In fact, maybe Infernal would have been voted out so as to prevent Death from making a hit. Then KN sends a hit for Athrun and we win. In the end, everything changed because of the B.A.
That's why I was a disappointed with the ending when I first read it. The best way to describe it is like if this was the playoffs. In the end, on the deciding game, the referee decides to start playing and then makes himself the winner. It just made me feel like I shouldn't have bothered playing.
I hope I'm not sounding bitter because I'm not. It's just a game and I understand one can't win them all. I'm very happy with how I did especially since this was my first game and I was still unclear on things. I just wanted to try and express my feelings on the twist. There's a right way and a wrong way. Agatha Christie did it right in a novel she wrote once. I won't mention the name in case one day you read it. I don't want to spoil the ending as it were. The reason is because in the novel, there were plenty of clues provided and it all made logical sense so you didn't feel cheated but rather amazed at how quick you were to dismiss the possibility.
With this twist, there weren't enough clues and the rules seemed to contradict one another. The mayor is a role, Then the Mayor should have died by now for noting voting with-in two days. The Mayor isn't a real role. Then how can the B.A., who is the mayor, be a live role? It conflicts too much and in the end, it sort of taints the game.
