Wow...

That actually looks....wonderful! The graphics, though shiny, are nice and rounded.

I'm telling you, WiFi this son of a bitch and attach a GREAT adventure mood and watch the money roll in!

What they should do is make the entire adventure take place or revolve around the "stadium" location and all that embodies.

Stadiums are big places that seat thousands. I'm sure there's a lot that happens in them, I'm sure there's lots of ways to get lost in one, lots of concession stands to visit, and lots of hidden hallways and stuff like that.

From a business perspective, Nintendo just needs to make a game that's "not crap". Seeing their world and favorite characters in 3D, allowing them to play against the world, and a new feature or two will do it. Think Madden.

While that would be cool, I think Nintendo should stick to it's tried and true formula. Going across huge distances and different locales to fight Pokemon Dojo masters has always been appealing and it will continue to be appealing.

Like Ian said, simply transfering the franchise to 3D will make it seem fresh and new. That's all the innovation they need really. Add in some very beautiful graphics (for things like the location, i.e. forest, ocean, etc.) and maybe a Wiimote pokeball toss and you have yourself a hit.

Hell, I'd be tempted to check it out, if the exploration factor is anything like Zelda's.

<gilded rant>I want whatever you guys are smoking.  That did not look fantastic.  Not even remotely. </gilded rant>The bacground and everything looked wonderful.  I'll give you that.  But the Pokemon and Trainers looked like Plastic toys.  Ever since the first Stadium  I've wanted proper looking pokemon.  I wanted a 3D version of what they were suppose to look like.  That means Pikachu would have fur.  The whale one would look like it had whale skin.  Rock pokemon would look like ... rock.  Not this plastic junk. There is no excuse with the increased storage of the Wii and the increased graphics it ought to happen.  Star Fox Adventure had fur.  They sacrificed everything background wise but for a stadium style game that be ok.  That's something I have against the newest version of Smash pikachu.  Everyone got an upgrade, except Kirby but what are you going to do? Give him his on special lighting?, Pikachu changed color slightly.  Fur people.  Fur. Why...

they are toy-like creatures. it's not that hard to give Pikachu fur. Just look at donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Starfox adventures.
They chose this toy-look, and frankly i think it looks great. and i don't even like pokemon...

Anyone complaining about how the Pokemon look should consider the fact that there are over 300 Pokemon (and with Pearl/Diamond it will be over 400) and each of them would need their own 3D model.  They have to make the characters look simplistic if they're to fit them all in.

They actually hit each other... and it's sad that I'm excited about that as they never bothered to do it before, and should have for the GCN version.

That actually excited me too, and annoyed me since the second Stadium game.  I figured since it was the same engine they weren't really doing that much between 1 and 2 on the N64; it should have been added then.

I hope Pokemon Channel Revolution is announced too!  I can change the channel by twisting the wii-mote or aim it like a TV remote!

It should be. Pokemon DS is supposed to be compatable with the GBA ones, so you can transfer your Pokemon from Pokemon Box to Pokemon Sapphire to Pokemon DS to Pokemon Wii.

Yeah, there are 386 pokémon (unless Bosly makes 387) not having a hairy Pikachu (see other thread) is a-ok. Making the pokémon that realistic would make the game lose its feel anyway. The plastic look is perfectly suitable for the pokémon style.

They could reduce the sheen a little bit and it would improve it some.
I mean, they shouldn't look like they are coated in shellac.

In their defence, it isn't to the frosted donut level of Tekken 6: the Krispy Kreme Tournament.  If their skin shined anymore it would be blinding.

As a huge Pokemon fan who was dissapointed with the last 2 console games, I think this looks wonderfull. The big attacks seem to do damage to the back grounds, the pokemon actualy touch each other now(thank god!) and the pokemon and trainer animations look very nice as well.  And with this game having well over 386 different 3D pokemon models, I think the graphics for it are awesome.

I've never been a big fan of these Stadium type Pokemon games.. or the RPG ones. =x But this looks pretty cool. The stage was like Orchid's or something from Killer Instinct. Just needs really bad music and the illusion will be complete.

Has anyone stopped and think that Nintendo wants pokemon to look like that?  Why would they use a sam fisher realistic model in a game that has always been cartoony?
