Controller prices could definitely be a problem. Personally, I like to own 4 controllers. (I bought 4 at launch for GCN.) At launch, GCN's wired controllers were $35 (dropped to $25 when the Wavebird took over the $35 price point). The Wii's controllers are much more complex and have an unknown number of attachments included (at least the nunchuk, probably the shell, maybe more we don't know about). I would not be completely surprised to see $40-$45 controllers, but that is approaching the price of a game. Hopefully, Nintendo will manage a $35 or lower controller price (especially if they want to encourage multiplayer), but I'm not counting on it.

40-45$ controllers sounds like the Xbox 360 controllers, which is sad considering the wiimote is more than a standard controller and still may only be priced at the 360 gamepad level.

I don't see a lot of need for including the shell, except for Virtual Console downloads (snes and n64).  If they don't include one, it is like VC doesn't come with the console. I still would have liked to have sees a couple of kidney bean buttons around the A button so the Shell would hardly be needed at all.


Two wiimotes in the box could be beneficial to even singleplayer, for multi weemote games (like a drumming game), unless the nunchuck is good for that.  
But does W stand for womething, if the ii stands for two wiimotes?

Gotta include one shell. For one you don't want people to have to buy anything to use the VC. For another, they (I think) already promised to bundle one.

My guess is that the shell will be relatively cheap to make, so there be no reason NOT to include one.
