The Revolution isn't for everybody. And apparently, it's not for him.
I am Karl Castaneda's news-posting clone, also known as Karl Castaneda #2. I have an inferiority complex, thanks to my being a clone. Fear me!

Nintendo had it billed as a mind-blowing piece of high-tech wizardry, a marvel of the modern age that would blow all our minds.

No, that's what YOU interpretted it as.

The company had us all salivating at the prospect of seeing the new controller, citing fears that competitors would steal their innovative ideas should pictures ever surface.

No, they said the concept would be stolen, and I'll let you stomp on my throat if it isn't.

We searched the internet for gossip and rumours, desperately hoping that the rumblings abouta dual-screen, touch sensitive input were true.

orly?  What the **** are you even talking about?  That's what the DS is, that was the only thing that we were praying the Revolution WASN'T.

I don't feel like continuing this post, whatever

It's a point-counterpoint 2-part article -- the next article in the series will spout all the positives.

I only care if he actually tried the controller, he didnt, so his points are just ramblings.

That's a spectacularly retarded way to go about this, if you ask me.  Just combine them, you get an article that actually has merit (well, as much merit that you can have without actually playing it ).  Of course, his next article will directly contradict this one, so it all...just.....falls......apart......

From what I read, he doesn't actually make points.  It's just a bunch of whining, at least Ian has something to say when he whines.  I mean, the first half of the article he just complains about how it looks.
Not to mention it's terribly written.  But I don't suppose I should expect quality writing from the internet, even articles I agree with are often poorly written

I'll start posting without any logic or common sense, then I'll rebut myself with logic and common sense.

"We searched the internet for gossip and rumours, desperately hoping that the rumblings abouta dual-screen, touch sensitive input were true."

Next I'll post about secrets I've learned over the internet about a secretive company in a foreign country, then rebut myself and post about the reliablilty of anonymous people on the internet.

Humm. He's trying to pull a Charles Foster Kane, eh? Yeah, he didn't do a very good job.
But then, writing an article that you personally disagree with is a hard thing to do well.

You've never heard of this method of writing? It's not reporting, its like a debate. In debates, its the judges who decide who "wins". In this type of thing, its YOU who decides what's right and what's not. If there's not a lot of valid statements, there are still things you can glean from that. Like the fact that there might not BE that many negatives. Writers are assigned stuff like this all the time.

I have actually, and I think it's ALWAYS a retarded thing to do, because it's one person debating with himself.  He's going to have to make up points just to be able to fill up the article, and that bothers me.

Of course, the way you described it makes sense, it's mostly just a personal issue I have with it

It can work...but only if the writer is really, really good, and can be mercilessly objective (this guy doesn't cut it.)

Really, it would've been 1000x better if revo-europe had actually found an articulate, intelligent hater of the REV controller to write the article.

Nah, Ian wouldnt go as far as to say that the Rev controller wont sell consoles but the eye toy for some obscure and illogical reason did precisely that,  that part of the article made laugh.
