Although, it doesn't really matter - ultra-backwards compatibility + on-line Smash Bros = I'm buying it.

Yeah the Backwards compatibility is awesome.... but we saw very litle on actual developers and third parties.... Thats a HUGE concern. Sony rolled out the big guns, Microsoft trumpted their big win Square Enix and Nintendo trumped out Nintendogs and Zelda...

You have to take into account the Revolution is a while off, it wouldn't be intelligent to talk of specs and I doubt it's even finalized to the stage where they can get tech demo's running on it, should be more on this later, keeping people guessing isn't a bad thing but overall I'd say this is pretty poor, in all honesty it may be the worst of the three conferences they could have showed something, even the PS3 hardware wasn't finalized and it was using a weaker GPU and Cell but they still showed demos of the game, they could have even done better by comparing to one of the other two consoles.. not looking good but this it NOT the be end and do end of it all we still haven't seen the controller, no demo's and we still haven't seen the Revolution.

The Samus likely wasn't Revolution either. Just some render.

I double the giant "Awwwwww" the audience cooed when Iwata said he wasn't going to discuss any "secrets".

Oh well. All conferences were underwhelming in some form or fashion. Ninty's the most since we didn't get much new info on the Rev.

But DAMN that GB Mirco is really small.

Two reason's not to show screens.

1)The graphics aren't as good as the other systems.

or

2)The graphics wouldn't properly represent what the revolution is.

Nintendo just stated it was coming. Told us that the controller will be vastly different, and how we connect and use our system will be different.

Backwards compatiable with every system is awesome and important. (At least to me.) I sold all of my games and systems with each upgrade so I can actually afford to upgrade. Now I will be able to play classic games again. But will this hurt repackaging the games for the DS and GBA?

I am alittle disappointed with that Micro GBA, unless it is like $50.00 I am not interested.

Okay...I didn't see the conference, but from the sounds of it Nintendo did the very expected and said little about Revolution. I think that was a mistake, especially since (again from what I've heard) there was no footage. At the very least they should have shown some simple demos. Unless they don't have anything that can compete with what Sony and Microsoft have shown, but I doubt that. I'll watch a rerun of the conference before I say anything else.

So the only revolution footage was Metroid Prime 3 and other than that the only interesting Revolution game mentioned is Smash Bros.

And they didn't show the controller, just the console. And they did nothing to appease graphics whores except tell them they'll say "wow". Why tell? Why not show?

Well... that conference officially sucked. They better show stuff on the show floor.

Problem is, other than Microsoft, Nintendo needed to deliver the most. They didnt. Thats genuinely disapointing.

It is over, if they had stuff to show now, there was no better time than just now to show it.

They held back, and now they are perceived as late.

Right now -

Xbox 360 = lots of games, hype
PS3 = lots of games, awesome graphics, hype
Revolution = F*ck all

Hopefully this changes over the next year, but it's hard to shift hype, first impressions are very important.
