Wow, Nintendo is just on fire in Japan! 22 of the 30 top selling games are DS games, and games made for a Nintendo console captured 26 of 30 spots. New Super Mario Bros has now sold well past 4 million units in Japan alone, and getting close to 10 million worldwide if it hasn't surpassed it already. Just wait until the Wii starts kicking it up a notch with game releases.

I'm still tring to find the Mario Chart that has all the Mario games and what they've sold in Japan(& WW?) all listed next to each other with a representive Mario from that game, but this bit of info is all I've been able to find w/o that chart.
Quote

NSMB is 100k away from outselling Super Mario Land and becoming the best selling handheld Mario ever, and the second-best selling Super Mario game ever (in Japan).

I really want to find that chart though, cause the biggest selling Mario game was represented by the largest Mario icon and the smallest has the tiniest Mario icon, all listed in order from smalles to biggest. I was a nice chart.

Here, BlackNMild.. from that chart it seems like NSMB is ahead of Super Mario Land already in Japan. The original Super Mario Bros is still first, but it may have been a pack-in for Japan also.

Super Mario Bros 3 is still the best-selling non-pack-in game ever.

Of course not, but I'm sure he doens't mind if I borrow his charts, I think they were very nice and he would want as many people to see the product all of his time & effort as possible. Besides I was trying to make the DS Sales thread not so redundant. No need to for two identical threads, Pacman charts are for dress up, in the DS thread.

Where is BlackNMild2K1? This thread is getting neglected. Heck, Brandogg posted NDP numbers in the GameCube forum. Why weren't they reported here? I might have to check out the Wii sales thread to see what has been happening in Japan.

Yeah, the PSP numbers are impressive.  I'm more surprsied at how low DS sales were...PSP is about where I figured it would be, numbers-wise, but I thought DS would sell way more than that.  I figured it would overshadow everything.  I guess there weren't any really big releases in January.

Fraom what I've heard the DS is still virtually sold out everywhere. Nintendo just didn't ship that many.
Maybe they have to choose between plastic for more DSs or slighty more plastic towards more Wiis.
It could also be that Nintendo wanted to feed the HUGE the demand in Europe since they just started their drought.

Wow @ the debut of the Professor Layton game. I saw the preview a few weeks ago and wasn't sure what to make of it. Its also good to see that the Top 5 games this week are all 3rd party regardless of what platform its for.

It also looks like Brain Age 2 is about to be the next 4 million seller(currently @ 3,991,966). I'm not sure how many that makes, but I know it joined the likes of:

Pokemon: D&P, NSMB, Animal Crossing & Nintendogs

Did Brain Age 1 break 4 million?

The DS is inches away from surpassing its older brother the GBA and closing in on that 5+ million unit lead that the PS2 has. If sales keep up, I think the DS will surpass the PS2 before Sept. is over.

Nope, Brain Age 1 "only" made it to about 3.4mil .  It seems to be selling at about 20k a week, so give it about 25 weeks more.
