BTW it's been confirmed that PSP outsold DS this month, again. It sold more than GBA is all we know. NPD are so freaking retarded with their numbers, treating them like it's some "exclusive club". They can rot and die, we need a better sales tracker to step up.

I'm not too worried about the PSP selling more than the old school DS. I mean, what is probably happening is people are waiting on buying a DS until the lite comes out.

If the PSP continues selling more than the DS lite when it comes out THEN it is time to start worrying.

Btw, NSMB was the best selling game of May. Money wise. At half the price of console games. In 3 weeks.

True; but you have to remember the only other new games to make the list were X-Men, Over the Hedge and Table Tennis.  I don't mean to disregard NSMB's victory, but the competition wasn't exactly fierce last month.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I just don't understand why people are still buying PSPs. What does the system offer them that the $120 cheaper PS2 doesn't, other then portability? Apparently, I have grossly underestimated the allure of watered down PS2 games on the go.

It is purty looking and you can be "cool" if you own one even if you buy no games for it.

That's rockstar's tabble tennis game, right? I wouldn't have been surprised if it outsold NSMB, personally....

Sorry if I'm the only one who doesn't see the enjoyment factor of a table tennis game. The only reason it's selling like this is because it's made by Rockstar.

If Nintendo made it it would be teh genius because it'd have Mario instead of boring ordinary people and the ball would be, like, a 40 foot snake.
That's my opinion, not yours.

The wait is over...

Separately, Nintendo said it sold 136,500 of its new DS Lite players in the United States on Sunday and Monday. The game player weighs less than the DS and has a brighter screen. A Nintendo spokesman said DS Lite sales appear to be on pace with those from the launch of the DS, which sold 500,000 units in the first 10 days after its U.S. debut in November 2004.

So it's going to take what ... 3 - 4 weeks sell 2 million copies of NSMB? Comon... stick a fork in it already. The DS(lite) is dead.

Speaking of which... No xbox numbers? Or ... no xbox sales... ?

Nope!

DSL 132,027
PSP 21,656
PS2 18,981
GBASP 4,116
GBM 1,654
DS 1,371
Xbox360 1,100
GC 961
GBA 36
Xbox 20

I suspect MS tried to cover up the Xbox numbers this week because of the GBA defeat, but the numbers got out eventually. Quite a massive leap for the Xbox this week actually, more than DOUBLING up from 8 last week. GBA had better watch out, if Xbox continues growing at the same rate and overtakes GBA we wont hear the end of it from Microsoft!
