Yes, so just so we are all clear. Mario is being quite sarcastic, and has been sarcastic for a while now. He is satirizing both Ian Sane's hyper-negativity and certain selections from Gaming Age Forums PSP fanboy comments. The DS platform is breaking records for sales in normally slow months, as well as maintaining unbelievably high sales week over week, only seemingly limited by their access to raw materials and time. New Super Mario Bros. might just be the fastest selling Mario game of All Time. And Animal Crossing:Wild World may have just outsold Final Fantasy XII.

I told you it would get out of hand, Mario.

Yeah... which is why it's so newsworthy! DS has taken off everywhere, but the US. GC has 0.0001% marketshare here, but DS is leading right now, yet in the US where the GC got more than half it's worldwide sales, DS isn't so hot! It's crazy!

Here are two other versions. I make no promise that it will look correct or the math will be done correctly, when opened in MS Office. The HTML version should look the same for anybody. If you just want to look at it and not edit it just grab the HTML version.

It's only for japan because it's the only area that has data regularly and the numbers aren't fudged by the companies making the systems. In the US Wal-Mart and a few other retail place don't release there sales data and companies like Sony withhold data if they are losing in sales at the moment. If you look at the reply I gave a few pages ago Sony plays with some fuzzy numbers. To my knowledge videogames when sold in Japan are counted by a system like in the US when a Music CD is sold.

Sony is doing some major BS with there numbers. 4.7M - 3.2M = 1.5M units sitting on the shelfs. Thats almost a 50% more then what they sold. Nintendo at the same point had 6.8M DS/Lunits sold in japan.

You're confusing sarcasm with irony.

Sarcasm's entire purpose is negative, to attack, to hurt. The original intent of Mario's posts was to attack the morons who claimed success or doom based on one number. The point is long proven and now people are just doing it without a reason.
