Well, you don't... but I can't imagine they would have secured the rights and brought over the key developers unless they had enough venture capital to see the project through to completion.
To be fair, that's basically speculation on my part. But a small company like this probably won't even try to secure a publisher until the game is in beta, and will stay under the radar until they have one lined up. Not to mention that it may have to move to the next generation for timing issues.
In other words, either you'll hear about it when it's done, or it'll end up in the graveyard of great games that will never be, like Prey and Dead Rush.
