True though I think the speaker idea really needs the motion control to compliment it in order to make it even remotely useful. Like swinging your remote like a bat and having it make the "crack" sound when you hit the ball would be pretty cool. Just having a normal controller making noise seems kind of useless.

Why wouldn't the crack of the bat just come out of my tv speakers?  I don't find this all that immersive unless there's a lot more to it.

This could mean that the game still could become Mario Tennis.

The way I see it, it looks like the charachters are disjointed, in the Rayman kind of fashion. Nintendo went with these "place holder" graphics because it would look ackward if they were real. A realistic arm would look fake anyways due to the controller. It would wobble around like a damn puppet on a string.

I love the art style they chose. It's very minimalistic and it gets the job done. And it does one more thing.....it puts the focus on control, and really that's where Nintendo wants to be.

I'm sure a Mario Tennis will makes its debut, but honestly I wouldn't miss it. This looks halarious.

You would like that wouldn't you.....you naughty boy

Speaker huh? Well that's really funny because I mentioned how BADASS it would be if the Star Wars game had lightsaber noises coming out of the controller. *VHOOM* *VHOOOOOOOOOM*

BAD ASS!

Anyway, I was already content with the Wii and what it has to offer. It's funny, because I still don't know sh!t. But really, everything is delicious delicious icing on top of a moist cake.

I assume the idea is that the sound comes from where the source would be.  So hearing the crack of the bat as if it's coming from the bat itself (ie: the remote) is more immersive then hearing it from the TV.  I don't think this is that amazing of an idea but I think that's what Nintendo is going for.

I see no toes.

EDIT: Just remember, every Nintendo home system to date has launched at $200 in the US.

No, that's only the top half of him in that picture.

Though, the scan looks VERY weird. I'm not sure if it's the scan quality or if TP's graphics have been redesigned a bit.

Ah, right. I was thinking the pouch on his belt was his boot for some reason.

Yeah, making a realistic-looking tennis game would be much harder.

Another thing, players just probably couldn't recreate actual tennis moves while sitting on the couch. In a real tennis swing, you have to move your arm a long ways and twist your body and all that. With stylized graphics, you can have the tennis racket move a shorter distance and not look weird.

um where exactly on the wiimote will the speakers be located? I imagine that my fat hands will smother the remote, and unless the speakers are on the side(s) then we aren't going to hear ****

edit: I really really really want to be able to pull back my bow before I fire in LoZ:TP.

soooo immersive.
I'll shut up now...
