Zelda looks awesome there, hopefully the Wii sparkling innovations dont drag down the game too much.

Tennis looks awesome too! I find it funny it looks EXACTLY like Mario Tennis but with generic characters and Ian likes it. :P

FYI, I don't care, I just wanted a good first person shooter on my DS. If they used Metriod as a vehicle for that, so be it.

EDIT: Also, you take how Nintendo treats obviously little filler games way too seriously.

Keep an eye out for EGM scans. Apparently the latest one has Zelda on the cover... more pics inside as well as more game info.

Someone on GAF is claiming that the sword swinging is only "sometimes" since your arm would get tired... at least Nintendo understands that, so now I can rest easier.

Link looks really awesome in that scan, and the Tennis game looks pretty cute.

Apparently in that same issue, they claim the Wii launches at $250.  Must include a game...

$250??  That's a little high.  Didn't the Cube only cost $200?  What was the point of gutting the hardware to all hell if the price wasn't going to be any lower than normal?

It hasn't been confirmed that that just isn't speculation on EGMs part. BTW apparently Reggie and Nintendo are really pissed that this stuff has leaked out of EGM. I guess the speaker in the wiimote is the big secret.

Well if it comes with two wiimotes, two nunchucks, and a game like Mario 128, I am fine paying $250.  I paid $250 for my N64 because it was bundled with Mario 64 at Toys R Us, and I don't see why this would be frowned upon...

The speaker sounds pretty minor so, yeah, that probably is the "big secret".  With Nintendo "big secret" is like secret code for "minor feature that's kind of neat but no one would give two sh!ts about if it didn't exist".

I'm fairly positive that the Cube launched at $250, although I'm surprised that I can't remember correctly.  I'd be willing to bet at least three toes on 25o though.  I was expecting $200 for Wii, but 250 isn't bad.

Oh, and speaker in remote is both lame and cool.  I was expecting something bigger, but it could be pretty cool.  There's potential for hilarity in games liek Wario Ware too (I want Wario to insult me when I mess one up)

The Cube launched at $200 in the states.

I think EGM's wording was "$250 seems reasonable."  They may not know the price yet.

I really wasnt expecting anything mindblowing about "the secret feature", I find this pretty neat, exactly what I expected.

The speaker can't be the huge secret...because unless I'm missing exactly what it entails, it seems about as useful as rumble, which is all fine and dandy.  But not exactly something worth hiding, so I would say this is not the 'other' shoe dropping.

Something along the lines of rumble is huge.  I mean, EVERY controller now has rumble, Sony even went so far as to break the law to get rumble in their controllers.

A speaker on the remote woudl be cool for horror games. Hopefully there's a headphone jack on it too.

Just think about it, it will be really inmersive, navi talks to you in the remote and when she goes away the sounds goes from your hand to your TV, its not perfect 3D sound but it almost is.

A speaker on the remote is pretty cool, but I'm on the side of folks who don't consider it huge.  It's only about equally insteresting to the accelerometer on the nunchuck attachment, IMO.

I was hoping for something a little more exciting/realistic for the tennis game, graphically, hopefully it's just a demo.

A speaker seems like an odd thing to keep secret, particularly when the motion control is the real selling point and for some reason Nintendo revealed that with plenty of time before launch for Sony to steal it.

"The motion control is all fine and good but it's the SPEAKER that's going to make the big difference for us.  If Sony steals the speaker idea we'll be TOTALLY SCREWED!!"

I mean the way I look at rumble now...as if it were announced that the wiimote contained rumble today, I would be 'meh'.  That's how I feel about the speaker, unless it's a dynamic surround sound set up, like a bose system and you can plug headphones into it...which begins to tie into the virtual Reality rumors, actually...hmmm

Hey! I liked the GameCube digital click shoulder buttons.. And the waterpack. And the two-character karts.

EDIT: Maybe if the speaker is the secret, which I hope it isn't, they didn't reveal it to keep the hype going? I mean, you have to have something for people to get excited about in the transition period between TGS and E3. I know, it's pretty lame, but still..

Ian, I don't think Nintendo's concern is as much keeping secrets from Sony as it is having interesting new features to tell us about.  Though I have to agree that this is nowhere near on par with the motion control, as far as secrets go.

The remote idea is harder to copy, putting a speaker is easy to copy.

As far as I know it went like this:

Miyamoto said that the controller had a secret (which now it seems it was secrets, nunchaku acelerometers and speaker)

Iwata said in GDC that the console (as in the whole thing, not just the controller) wasnt fully revealed and that "the big secret" will be revealed at E3. My guess, something to do with online, so I dont care about it.

I always thought it was something embedded in the hardware, but I guess we'll find out..

True though I think the speaker idea really needs the motion control to compliment it in order to make it even remotely useful.  Like swinging your remote like a bat and having it make the "crack" sound when you hit the ball would be pretty cool.  Just having a normal controller making noise seems kind of useless.
