From the article:
Quote

It has now been rechristened the Nintendo Wii, an unreadable, unintelligible (that daunting double-i!) syllable. (For the record, it's pronounced "we," and the i's are supposed to represent the new controller ... never mind.)
The most interesting part about what he says about the name (and I don't want to start that fight over again, I'm just pointing this out because it's interesting) is the "never mind" there at the end.  He points out that it's supposed to sound like "we" and that the 'i's are controllers, but then stops as if to say, "I'm pretty sure you, my readers, don't actually care about this, and I don't think it's worth my time to explain it."

Tennis looks pretty cool.  It's unique, original and isn't an existing franchise.  And at the same time it's got personality and doesn't just look like a tennis sim.

Holy sh!t!

Tennis looks halarious!

Also, did you guys check out the TP scan? It looks......gorgeous. If it had to stand against next-gen software, I think it can. Also, do you see how he's aiming? It's exactly as I invisioned it. Over-the-shoulder > FPV.

Here's a link for the lazy bums out there:

Click or Don't....I don't care

I just noticed another thing

The TP scan looks to control exactly as I had invisioned as well. Look at the controls on the top right. You press the D-pad to equip and fire the item. The "B" is strickly sword, while "A" stays the context sensitive button. That leaves the Z buttons a bit of a mystery, but I know ones for the shield and maybe the other is Z-targeting.

Camera is controlled by NRC?

I just look at the scan, it says that you just aim and shoot T_T such lame controls, so now the game is easy as hell with the remote? or are they going to handle difficulties and make it harder for the rev and easy for the GC? what about Z (L) targeting? what the hell is happening with game?

DAMN I need a confirmation now about the status of the GC game...

Chill.......

You haven't even PLAYED the game, much less, heard of any impressions (excluding this one of course).

So you looked at the scan and decided that was a better way to judge the game than the impressions of the person playing it.

The dude said, you aim and fire. That's so vague. Plus the impressions are what....two lines long? I think the picture gives a better picture (no pun intended) of what we should expect.

Stop complaining about things that haven't even been solidified yet. I'm tired of hearing you complain about stuff that doesn't matter. The aiming of the sling shot? Who cares, that was never a major point in the game anyway. I hated aiming the sling shot the traditional way. Also, the gameplay has to change on the Wii. It just has to. You know that once you actually hear people playing this, they are going to love it. And you will too, I'm betting. Nintendo did A LOT of research and development on this controller, and I'm willing to bet with the extra 6 months they were given, they were able to perfect the controlls.

No, it sucks that one part, be it either GC or Rev,  will suffer because the attention is split, difficulty is just one issue among the many of making this stupid move of remote controls for a GC game, but Ive gone great lengths explaining it before, I wont do it again.

It wasn't ready to go, but it was still obviously delayed for the Wii. They didn't need six months to debug the thing.

Mantidor, I have stuck up fpr you in the past, but for God sake, Zelda would never be slapped together haphazardly.  No matter what it looks like the controls are now, they will in fact rule once we get our grubby mitts upon it.  Calm yourself and bask in the glow of the triforce.

"Zelda would never be slapped together haphazardly."

I used to believe that Metroid would never see a multiplayer focused game, and here we are...

I just lost confidence on Nintendo, I dont blindly believe in them anymore, so I have to vent my doubts on their decisions, only hoping I will have to eat my words, because Ill gladly do it.

I looked at the Tennis graphics...and I think those must be place holder graphics...as the game is probably a demo.

This could mean that the game still could become Mario Tennis.

Or it could mean that Nintendo is intentially choosing this style...

Again why would you choose a cartoon style with little detail, or fimilar characters.

To appeal to the masses.  The characters remind me of peanuts, and the graphics and everything are non intimidating and inviting for adults, females, kids, and pretty much everyone to play.

Still think that they are placeholder graphics though.

OH NO, Nintendo released a multiplayer focused Metriod game and people for the most part liked it! How terrible.

No, that's only the top half of him in that picture.

Though, the scan looks VERY weird. I'm not sure if it's the scan quality or if TP's graphics have been redesigned a bit.
