I plan on buying physical version.

I hope I can transfer the digital demo save file to the physical game!

1-2 players?

I'm curious how 2 player mode works.

Prince of Persia-ed!

I was pretty excited that these were available. I went onto the eShop and discovered it's... $39.99?!?!?!?!?

This is essentially 3 Virtual Console games, am I right? Normally $8 for SNES (times two) and $4 or $5 for GameBoy games. So... maybe $20? Why so expensive? Just the Square-Enix tax or is there more that I don't know about?

This is a game that I play a match or two every now and again. As such, I will never win one of these competitions.

It's cool that they have them, tho.

I have the vanilla version on PC. My issue is that I don't want to pay full price again to play it on Switch. (Or even 75% of full price at it's best sale yet.) If I also got the 2 DLC packs($50), that could mean I'd have sunk $170 into one game (or more if they charge extra for Switch DLC). The game is fun, but that's a crazy amount of cash.

This is great news!

I'd be happy to win Tetris 99 even one time.

I thought the point of multiple versions (yellow, blue, red) was that you'd start with the corresponding Pokémon (Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle). What's the point of having 2 versions (Sword and Shield) if you can pick any of the 3 starters? I feel like I'm missing something.

This game is on sale now 60% off or so. I'm giving it a shot.

Holy Toledo! I don't think I've played one since Mortal Kombat 3. Have there really been 7 other mainline MK games?

I bought a Sega Master System back in 2002 and got this game shortly after. I got kind of far but eventually got stuck, not knowing where to go next. This seems like the way to start over.

I was really craving an RPG of some sort (that wasn't $40+) so I bought West of Loathing and that's a real hoot. But I'll be adding Phantasy Star to my wish list to play in the future

Cool. When is this coming out in America? I couldn't find it on the eShop.

I downloaded it, but haven't tried it out yet. Too hooked on Skyrim and Rocket League.

I'm glad to see this, but I really want Dragon Quest X and XI

2nd save file? That's crazy. You already did everything once?

I did finally unlock the Lost after 45ish hours of making it my goal. I've done all of his stuff on hard mode. Most other characters I've just been playing on normal mode.

I've spent a lot of time on the Ultra Hard challenge and haven't had any success. I actually still have quite a few challenges I've yet to even try.

I haven't done much with the Keeper. Didn't know about the no lock picking achievement.

I think there is also an achievement for beating the game in under 20 minutes. Speed is not my strong suit. What boss counts for that, I wonder...

Today I finally beat the daily run 5 times in a row. I've really struggled to play it 31 times in a row. I keep forgetting to log on on some random day. Should be the easiest achievement, really.

I think I still need 90 achievements or so, but I've come a long way. I don't think I want to beat everything in hard, though.

I'm playing Rocket League. My friend code is in the friend code thread

Ok. Thanks for all your advice. I've played this game a ton more and have really been enjoying it. I've unlocked every character[edit: every non-secret character]. (It took me forever to beat greed mode with Azazel - partly because I was awful at fighting greed. I have a much better strategy for fighting greed now.) I've beaten the final boss 3 or so times. I've unlocked well over half of the secrets.

The one thing that really makes me mad is trying to unlock the Lost. Every other thing in the game seems to be mostly skill based. This is BS luck. I got Mom's Box again today. I even got the Missing Poster to spawn... but no sacrifice room. Sure, I ran into two or so sacrifice rooms on earlier floors... really frustrating.

Is there a point in the game (like after mom's heart) that sacrifice rooms stop spawning? I can't recall seeing them after that point, but I also never really paid attention to sacrifice rooms up until now.

Retail games:
Zelda- played about 130 hours. Loved it. Didn't do everything the game had to offer. Didn't get DLC. Might be my favorite game of all time, and I own hundreds of games, so that is quite a feat.
Binding of Isaac: Played this one over 100 hours. I love the challenge and the way that things are different every time I play it.
ARMS: hardly played it. Kind of regret getting it, but I'll have to play some more.

Snake Pass: A fun collect-a-thon. Mastering the controls is really fun once you get over the hump. Found all the goodies. Very satisfying.
Snipperclips: played this one with the wife. Tons of fun but we wish it lasted longer.
Blaster Master Zero: Fun. Retro. Solid. Beat it once. The (timed free) DLC is neat.
Death Squared: beat the regular mode with the wife. We enjoyed it. It got pretty tough near the end. We still need to play the other mode.
Jackbox pack 3: fun with large groups, especially with creative funny people.

I like being able to play the Switch on the TV or take it with me easily on vacation. On a plane or in bed next to my wife.

I did have issues with one of my joy cons. I sent it out for repairs and it is better, but still isn't great. If anything is between my joy con and system, it'll briefly lose connection. I can't sit with my knees up. It's the case with both joy cons. I think the wireless just is weak. I did get a pro controller and that works fine.

I feel that there are plenty of games coming down the pipeline that I'm excited for. Mario Odyssey, Steam World Dig 2, Skyrim. Metroid Prime 4. There's honestly more games than I have time for as a responsible adult.

I hope that Nintendo improves the eShop and menus soon. I hope that virtual console is linked to Wii U and 3DS, even though that's unlikely. I hope that streaming services come out eventually. Even if none of these things are fixed, I'll still be pleased with the games.

Overall, I'm very happy.

Azeke, I also found your advice very helpful.

I'm about 30 hours in now and I have questions about game modes and stuff.

1) Do all modes unlock stuff? Does playing hard mode unlock more stuff or should I keep playing normal mode for a while?

2) I haven't made it through greed mode successfully yet. It's that worth doing? Should I be fighting the optional 11th wave? What are the best types of items to prioritize for this mode? It's it best to pick up coins during the fight it leave them until the waves are done?

3) It's there a point to doing the daily challenge? I've yet to unlock anything from it. Is it just for fun?

4) It's there a benefit to beating the game fast our with a high score?

I think I have more questions, but that's all I can remember. Sorry if it's disorganized- I'm using my phone. Thanks

Nintendo wins E3 in my heart with this announcement.

There was that game where Mario used a water GUN for the whole game, or was Super Mario Sunshine just a figment of my imagination?

I go by JJ in real life.

(Sadly, I sent out my left joycon out for repair, so I've yet to pay much of anything.)

Even if it fails by whatever metrics you want to use (sales compared to Sony or Microsoft, sales compared to other Nintendo systems), if it has lots of fun games then it succeeds in my heart.
