Nintendo Gaming / RE: Official DS Sales Thread
« on: January 26, 2006, 10:20:07 PM »
I really think the Lite was a bad idea. They should release it when DS sales start to slow down. DS is selling fine at the moment.

But I <3 you... :'(

Anyway, I've had my fun, and I hope you've all learn a lesson from this: don't trust "insiders" over the interweb. Be patient and wait for official Rev news! It can't be that far off anyway.

BTW... what has this thread turn into anyway? It's just like some hype thread now.

This news actually originated on the GameSpot forums. Those scans are from some dude on the forum.

Pretty cool. I hope DS can even handle Burnout. If anyone's seen the Top Gun DS screens, I hope it looks like that.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DS Game-List

The K in your name stands for KING... doesn't it.

Quite a big list! Though there are more confirmed online titles than that.

EDIT: Lunar: Dragon Song is being developed by GameArts, so that might be the Untitled RPG. And I don't think Turok has been announced... the IGN page has an error when clicked.

EDIT#2: You missed Top Gun.

Animal Crossing is slated for August? O_o I didn't know that. Watch it get pushed back further...

Bomberman was pushed back for online play.

What? No it wasn't, it's already out in Japan. Unless every other region will have online play except Japan, but that wouldl be a bit unfair.

Well upon futher research, I'm not sure. Now, I believe that online play is slated for every version EXCEPT the Japanese version. Not fair, I know, but, they did the same for the European version of Rayman, which had exclusive multiplayer. There could be two Bomberman games, and the original one still has a June release. There could be two versions of the same game, and the online version will be slated for later this year. I dunno. All I know is, DS is getting an online Bomberman.

That would be awsome... imagine a prettier Ocarina of Time.

You could always sell the old game to some noob on eBay and use that money to buy the new version...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Revolution a lost battle?
« on: May 21, 2005, 04:53:45 PM »
Even if Revolution is quite possibly the worst console in game industry history, which I assure you, it is NOT, I'm still buying it so I can have 20 years worth of Nintendo in a tiny little box.

P.S.: Xbox 360

I don't trust this list.

Bomberman was pushed back for online play.

I highly doubt Lunar Genesis is releasing in July.

The Ultimate seriies was also pushed back for online play.

Metroid Prime was also pushed back, not for online unfortunately.

Even if it were scrapped, we have an online Namco RPG to make it up for.

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo DS Online Publishers List
« on: May 17, 2005, 09:27:47 PM »
There is actually a very great deal of unveiled info in this list. For one thing, Tenchu DS and a new RPG from Namco is revealed, and both are online titles, which is very exciting. For another, the only big online games Sega has made that I can think of right off the bat are PSO and Chu Chu Rocket, so the online game from Sega could potentially be one of those titles - mid last year, however, Sega said they were considering making Chu Chu Rocket DS AND Super Monkey Ball DS, so maybe even SMB could be online. Also, PSO has been rumored for the DS for a while now, so maybe it could be that too. That, and Crystal Chronicles, Castlevania, and Dynasty Warriors will be online, which is also exciting.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart DS: ONLINE

I think it's safe to say that pretty much all multiplayer Nintendo-branded DS titles will be online. Yes, that includes the new Mario Bros.

What's even better is that the show hasn't even begun yet. When E3's over, we'll be left with a TON of huge DS titles revealed.

O_O

Look.. don't ask questions... just look...

Behold!

Appearantly DS can handle 3D on 2 screens at once, very well at that.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DS downloadable content at E3
« on: May 16, 2005, 02:48:13 PM »
Oh boy... Submarine Demo, Table Hockey, Zelda Trailer, Zelda Gallery, and ElectroPlankton? This will be a good E3.

Also- since Nintendo included EP, do you think it could be coming to America? We can only hope...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Super Secret DS!

I'd actually like the map on the bottom screen... I always thought it was a little inconvenient to switch to the map during gameplay in the 2D Metroid's.

There hasn't been a Nintendo-themed Tetris since the NES days, so this will be interesting.

Sorry Ian, but I have to dissagree. All of the Metroid titles, both 2D and 3D, have blown me away. It's my favorite fanchise next to Zelda; I can never have enough Metroid.  DS getting both demensions of this franchise makes me estatic.  I do agree with you on Metroid Pinball though... Pinball is getting hella old IMO.

Some are suggesting that one of the titles he's talking about could be StarFox.

EDIT - As for the other title, I think that may be Metroid Dread, because of the "dreadfully excellent" title the 1UP guy posted. While I am excited for another 2D Metroid, I don't think it's nearly as "killer app" the guy made it out to be. But we'll see.

And can someone explain to me the big deal of Kid Icarus?  That game was as much as a non-event as Ice Climbers was - maybe even moreso.  If you want an old NES game, Wrecking Crew was heaps more fun - you could play it two player co-op AND design your own levels.

Actually, there are a number of old-time NES games I'd like to be revived. StarTropics, Mach Rider, Kid Icarus... heck, even a Wild Gunman FPS would do.

Nintendo's finally learning from their past mistakes. I think we can expect lots of Nintendo success very soon.
