Nintendo Gaming / RE:Violence on the GCN...it's not seen enough!
« on: April 08, 2004, 06:07:17 PM »
I went black, colour coordination is very important Nintendo should try black, silver, dark silver console next time, blue/ green led and make it more slim.

The PS2 is probably the best looking console.

We just need more racing, sport and fighting games. Maybe more mature theme adventure games too.
Aggresive positioning also. I went out a couple of weeks ago and there were xbox game demos up an a plasma at a night club.

Another thing; mature titles dont mean blood

What exclusive racing sim is on GC?
How many sport games are on GC?
(soccer, rugby league/union, skate boarding, surfing, cricket)

They need more in these categories
Games u can just pick up and play, casual games.

If everyone said it was so super cool back then, why change it?  Nintendo just alienated non-hardcore fans.  I am not disputing whether the game was good or not (WW), im saying that nintendo could of released something that we AND the general public would both RUSH OUT to buy.

Yeah i agree. I havent bought it yet, i guess i will one day but its just not Zelda

I thought the article at game-revolution was pretty good.

Mouse Clicker, you need to backup your claims with links or evidence. No one will publish it with out any other research on the topic. And no, your brain with years of nintendo knowledge will not do.

well not quite, in australia GC has about 5% market share (i read that some time ago, i dont think its changed). Hardly any places stock games, and the shelf space is getting smaller and smaller each month. It's pretty hard to find a game at k - mart or other big retailers, only EB and places like that if your lucky

I'm ready to buy an x-box cause games like rugby league, v8 supercars etc are just not on the GC

As I said before, each player has their own version of Link. And because everyone has created their own Link, everyone can relate to him and have their own idea of who he is.

Lol, yeah took my impression of link and turned him into a weiner.

Has anyone fully finished street fighter 2  on the GBA?
Not just the arcade mode but the in time attack the grand master challenge (vs all).

The best I have done is defeated 11 oponents. Has any one beat this?

Its so hard i would just like to know if its possible.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)
« on: August 27, 2003, 10:42:18 PM »
The only thing that casts a small shadow on the game is the karts. I dont think they look too impresive. They look more like lawn mowers.
I'm sure the game will be great though!

Hi all,
Do you think users would be able to encode there own video and hence encode at greater then 10 FPS and at what ever resolution? That would be really good if you could, but i suspect that the way they're going to make money off it would be in selling the movies. Does the adapter do any processing or is it left to the GBA CPU? If thats the case maybe greater quality cant be attained.

I don't expect anyone to really know but thought to add some comments for discussion.

Nintendo Gaming / Super MarioBros: minus one world
« on: May 13, 2003, 02:25:57 AM »
Yeah thats it, well i think. select and up. I thought it might have been a bug or something. I didn't know it worked on Zelda I either. I also forgot to mention how to continue on Super Mario Bros. After your game is over press select, a, b. I think you only need to do it twice, but do it a few times to make sure you get it right.

Just thought i'll share some info about the old games with you all. Most old school players probably already new this though.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Screens !! Exclusive !!! 100% Genuine !
« on: April 23, 2003, 04:19:54 AM »
I dont want to sound down but all i really care about is if it plays like the original. I liked the semi short courses and the tight corners. The best thing was jumping out sideways. It was great for dodging obsticles. Also the shrinking ability is great! I just about always play small, its really hard but far more fun (press a and y together at the player select screen).

Nintendo Gaming / Super MarioBros: minus one world
« on: April 22, 2003, 02:37:12 AM »
I was wondering if anyone remembers minus one world on Super Mario Bros, yes the one on the NES. What the hell was the go with that world, it never ended. Has anyone finnished that level? There where rumors at the time that it goes to minus 2 after that world.

I also have some other tips such as how to continue in Mario bros, and also how it was possible to save in Zelda II on the NES without dying. I found it by total accident and what to know if anyone else knows it.

Those were the days.......

Nintendo Gaming / nintendo's return to glory
« on: April 22, 2003, 12:46:23 AM »
I agree with TheResidentEvil that topics like this one come up frequently, and are maybe pointless. But you need to ask yourself why so many people do post topics like this. IMO they are dissatisfied with the performance on Nintendo.

I am prepared to ramble on now and comment how the power weight has been knocked off by two new comers, athough market experienced companies. I wont because it's probably been discused before and i think nintendo are changing. I hope that they do cater for all audiences which i believe they can but will just take time, maybe not even the next console will change this.

Just remember, kids these days want what's popular. Mix that with great games and Nintendo will be back. They just need to do it before Sony and particually Microsoft make too much impact.

Sorry i couldn't help myself so just some points of what i think.......
- word of mouth is as great advertiser as TV, its just getting the mesage out in the first place.
- Nintendo or developers could buy back old stock, the shelves will be full and the GCN will look popular.(And i will actually be able to find GAMECUBES and GAMES!)
- Make sure those demo stands are on not off! And put in the different games rather then first party
- a new redesigned GCN that looks sleek, just as the GBA was redesigned. (fisherprice and purple = not good)
- Online is a bonus feature and money doensnt need to be made off it. (Someone correct me if there are any great costs invloved)
- One cube powering two TVs instead of split (Not possible yet but was dreaming)
- Do nintendo or there marketers read forums, it's a great source of free market research

I'm not sure if they'll work but at least there's some feedback - male, 20, student, Aussie :-)

Nintendo Gaming / No wonder M titles aren't selling
« on: April 21, 2003, 08:04:42 PM »
I know exactly what you are talking about. I live in Australia and i think the same is happening down here. In civic video there wasnt even one gamecube game, but plenty of xbox and of course PS2 games and even snes games!

I still haven't purchased a GC, but rather waiting to see how it performs - a bit of a catch 22 i suppose. With the bundle promotion (free game) and even seeing it for Aus $200 (half the prive of XBOX and PS2), i was thinking about getting one really soon. However, today when i looked in K- mart, they didnt even stock any. They had some games but the shelves where half filled and it looked as if it had been abanded.

I went to Big W and although they had it they didnt have the bundle.
I saw on megagames that the gamecube only has a 5% marketshare. I am left wondering how bad the state of gamecube is and if Nintendo know that they have a lot of catching up to do.

I wish that the days of the SNES will return.
