I go to a local butcher that deals with local farmers and though I have been there so many times and bought plenty of ground beef, I've never cared to look at the fat content...I should do that next time.

I find it's best to make a spice puree that you mix into the ground beef; like taking onions garlic ginger worchestershire and oil and throwing that in a blender. Not only does the ground beef become "softer", it allows all the spices to be equally mixed (so you don't bite into a piece of garlic).

But hands down the best burgers are stuffed burgers. You should make it sometime, although I would recommend you use a pan instead of the grill.

And turkey burgers are delicious.

mmmm i just had a mouth-orgasm

I don't go to Jersey if i don't have to, it smells funny...

LOL. It's funny cuz it's true.

See Mr. Jack gets it. The second you're anywhere near the Jersey Turnpike you best roll up the windows cuz you're in for a smelly ride. I remember having to drive my friend to PA and mapquest took us from the George Washingtong Bridge (NY) where it smelled like.. any other place in NY, and then to the Jersey Turnpike (..duh) where it smelled funny AND we got stuck in traffic.

I went to mexico a few years ago and we stayed in some of the more rural areas, so when we were on their long roads every few mins we'd drive be some open sewage drain/ditch and it smelled horrible. Thats what driving in to Jersey (From NY anyway) smells like. Its wretched.

Hey, don't judge New Jersey solely based off north jersey. The north is where we keep all the oil refineries/chemical plants/NY trash dumps. I live there for years and there's nothing wrong with me.

Me and stevey can never be real friends, if only because oil refineries/chemical plants/NY trash dumps come between us.

Bacon Chili Cheese Quesadilla Burger

Not really extreme, but damn was it delicious.

Bacon crumbled into some Chili w/ beans
Burger seasoned* and wrapped in foil before cooking (it's a steam broiled stove top cooked burger)
2 cheeses (American<out of cheddar> & Mozzarella)
Giant tortilla with a thin layer of mayo (which helped hold the tortilla shut)
wrap everything in the toasted tortilla and grill in the skillet till browned and cheese is melted.

*burger seasonings: Grilled Steak Seasoning, Chili Powder, Salt, Pepper & minced onions.

The real secret is how much flavor is in the patty from cooking it that way. It comes out so juicy after basically boiling in its own juices while it steam cooks and frys on the skillet all at the same time. You gotta use Chili Powder though. sooogood.gif

The bacon also helped the chili (which was leftover from the night before) & cheddar would have been so much better than American cheese.

Sorry about the half-eaten pic, but I didn't think to take a pic until after I was a little more than halfway done with the burger.

The best part is that It took me 3-4 bites before I realized that I hadn't even reached the burger patty in the middle. Mmmm 3-4 bites of nothing but Chili, Cheese, bacon, & tortilla. Then the treat of a super seasoned super juicy meat patty in the center of all of that.

I made this awesome tasting burger over the weekend for my girlfriend and I, but i ate the whole thing before remembering to take pics. I'll definately have to make it again some time though, it was delicious. Haven't cooked in a long time either, so this was a real treat.

It was basically a giant bacon cheeseburger, but the execution was special (for me since I've never made one like this before). I mixed diced green peppers into the ground beef as well as freshly cooked bacon, yum! I molded the patties and made a little pocket in the middle which I filled with Tostitos branded nacho cheese, then molded the patty to cover it, and threw it on the George Forman grill to make sure and knock out the fatTM!

It was epicly good.

I made a burger like that once, but I used cheddar cheese in the center. I also chopped onions & green pepper into the beef patty, but putting bacon in it sounds really good.

Maybe I'll try that next time but add mushrooms to it too.
Grilled onion, bell pepper, bacon and mushroom in a cheddar beef patty.... Mmm Mmm Mmm.

You mean real bacon or bacon bits like bacos? Cuz I thought about doing that, taking the cheap and easy way out but decided i'd rather go with the real thing. Besides, it woulda made the burger crunchy.. though I also thought about crushing bacon-bits/bacos and using it as a crispy coat to bake on, as if it were chicken. I'll try that one day, but it probably won't be great.

I meant to put onions in the burger too but I forgot to pick some up from the supermarket, so I went without. Mushrooms I'll have to try though, with provolone and maybe a mushroom sauce or a gravy on top.. probably leave the bacon outta that one though. Woulda used cheddar but the liquidy nacho stuff was just more convenient, and I knew the cheddar i had at home had probably turned, and I was right.

Damn, i want to make another burger! I have plenty of ground beef left over (buy 1 get one free bitches) but the bacon is all gone :(

Oh ok, thats what I thought you meant. Those hard crunch ones i only like in salads, since they soften up in the dressing.. yum.
