Nintendo World Report's staff offers up their expectations and hopes for this year's E3.
My predictions start at the top with "possible" all the way down to "off the hook never-going-to-happen craziness".
- Kid Icarus revealed as a 3D platformer/shooter/flying game.
- Wario Ware "Unbalanced" announced. 50% of the minigames are balance board controlled.
- Mario Tennis or Golf announced with a controller shell packaged with the game (racket and club, respectively).
- Black Wii consoles and remotes revealed.
- Metroid Dread finally unveiled as a WiiWare title with SNES style graphics, if Nintendo wimps-out, it will be revealed as a DS title.
- Retro Studios are restarting production on their ill-fated Gamecube "Car Combat" game for Wii, now to include online battling.
- An IR-based Star Fox game will be announced which draws inspiration from the SNES and N64 classics. The game will possibly feature a "family-friendly" mode and perhaps even an online dog-fighting mode.
- A sequel to Mario Galaxy! Well, more of an expansion pack than a full blown game; I’m sure they had plenty more planet ideas that didn't make it into the original.
- A mini USB memory stick/hard drive adapter that slots inside a newly designed base that the Wii sits on, with a blue light on the front.
Some of my crazier predictions are as follows:
- An official Wireless nunchuk controller revealed for $30.
- A DVD channel announced for purchase on the Wii Shop Channel, for 1000 Wii points.
- A new DS will be announced for Christmas with its own built-in shopping channel. Game Boy and GBA games will be available for purchase and will be downloaded directly onto the system's internal flash memory.
- Shigeru Miyamoto quits and leaves for Tecmo to work on the next Ninja Gaiden game for Xbox 360.
