Play Goldeneye (Wii) Online with NWR Staff and Fans -- Before It's Too Late!

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is going extinct in a few weeks, but there's still time to play one of the best online Wii games with cool people. Next, maybe last chance to play with the RFN guys is tonight at 9pm Eastern / 6 Pacific!

Keep checking NWR and follow @Nintendo_NWR on Twitter, or "Like" Radio Free Nintendo on Facebook to hear about things like this sooner.

It's a bit late notice, but I'm declaring an official online meet-up tonight to play Goldeneye online. If you have this great Wii game, dust it off for one of your last, best chances to find opponents online before the servers go down forever next month. You can play any time, of course, but we'll try to get a posse together around 9pm Eastern Daylight Time (6pm Pacific) tonight.

Goldeneye was the listener's choice for the latest edition of RetroActive, a recurring feature on Radio Free Nintendo. The whole point is to get everyone playing and talking about the same game to develop a robust discussion, and this time, it's all about the online mode! There are several match types, so if you don't see much activity in one, check a few others before giving up.

There's already an official forum thread for RetroActive, so please drop your Friend Code in there and add as many others as you can from the posts above. To find your Friend Code, and register others, select Multiplayer from the main menu, then Nintendo WFC (online), then Party Invite. (After registering several codes, it may help to log out of the online mode and back in. This seems to help the service pair up codes and grab people's user names for your friend list.)

If you're waiting for people to add your code for a complete pair, just jump into the public matches -- there aren't many people playing in general, so there's a good chance you'll run into some familiar names from NWR and the forums. Once you have a list of friends filled out, try jumping into someone's match (a handy feature, directly from the friend list) or invite a few of them to a party. Then you can choose any type of online match, and everyone in the party will follow into the lobby! (Unfortunately, exiting out to select another match type seems to cancel your party. You can always go back to the Party Invite menu to get the gang back together.)

Again, find Friend Codes and drop off your own at the official RetroActive forum thread. Play nice, and have fun!

Added my friend code to the thread! I am jumping on right now. I will only be able to join for the first half hour or so, so I want to make it count!
