New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be playable at select North American retailers starting in early August, according to the latest Iwata Asks.
You can check this Retail Kiosk Locater to see where one near you is. It's unknown when exactly the kiosks will switch to New Super Mario Bros. 2.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 is coming out at retail stores and on the eShop on August 19.

Nintendo is offering more eShop sales during the Month of Mario.
Nintendo of America is celebrating the launch of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS and 3DSXL by discounting the price of four Mario games available on the eShop in what they are calling the "Month of Mario."

It is now officially legal to resell licenses to digital products in Europe.
The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that software publishers can't prevent consumers from reselling licenses for digital products.
The court's decision was that, contrary to what software publishers have claimed in license agreements, when a customer buys software they own a copy of the software, and that regardless of the license agreement, that means they can't oppose the consumer's ability to resell that copy.

Sales outlets are selling download cards starting July 23, and let us know about how many blocks the titles take up.
Various retailers across Japan have revealed release dates for download cards, as well as the size of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Oni Training downloads on the Nintendo 3DS.

Get 50 extra Club Nintendo coins when you download New Super Mario Bros. 2 off of the eShop.
Club Nintendo members in North America will receive double the coins when they opt for the digital download version of New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the 3DS eShop when it releases on August 19.
The deal is similar to the Japanese bonus for buying the New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Oni Training on the eShop, but North America isn't getting Donkey Kong: Original Edition as a Virtual Console bonus.

One of the hardest Mario titles in history hits the 3DS VC next week.
Super Mario Bros. 2, known as Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels outside of Japan, will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Japan on July 25 for 500 yen.

Australia and New Zealand get some good news on the AC adapter front.
An AC Adapter will be included with all Nintendo 3DS XL systems sold in Australia and New Zealand, Nintendo Australia revealed on their website.
This situation is the same as in North America, but contrasts with Europe and Japan, where the adapter will not be bundled.
The Nintendo 3DS XL will be launching in Australia and New Zealand on August 23, 2012 for AU $249.95.

The Wii U is capable of running Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, according to company Vice President Marc Rein. He goes on to say, though, that Epic has no plans to port the engine themselves, but that developers would be able to port games using that engine to the system.

8-Bit Summer continues with Kid Icarus and Tumblepop, along with a wide assortment of 3DS and DSiWare games.
It's another packed week with two 3DS Virtual Console games, two 3DS eShop games, and two DSiWare games. 8-Bit Summer enters its third week, and hey, remember: Wario Land comes out next week! Also, Wario Land 2 comes out in Europe today, so now North America has their next thing to grimace about.

Check your 3DS! A SpotPass update is adding a new Kirby puzzle to complete and a free piece to get you started!
An update to the 3DS StreetPass Plaza introduced a new puzzle for 3DS owners to collect in the software's Puzzle Swap mini-game. A 40-piece puzzle panel commemorating Kirby's 20th Anniversary is newly available, likely timed to coincide with the July 19 release of Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition for the Wii in Japan. North American users are getting the Kirby compilation title in September.

The first non-Yoshi unlockable QR character is now available.
Metal Mario is now available for unlock via QR code in North American copies of Mario Tennis Open.
To unlock the costume, press up on the D-pad and the Start button at the same time while on the Profile Select screen. Then, take a picture of the QR code on this page and the costume will unlock in every existing profile.

The trilogy's conclusion will include the epilogue content on disc.
The Wii U version of BioWare's Mass Effect 3 (announced at this year's E3), will include the recently released Extended Cut content on the game disc.
Speaking with Siliconera, series producer Michael Gamble noted that the free, downloadable Extended Cut package, which adds endgame content in the form of new scenarios and explanatory cut scenes, will be bundled in with the base Mass Effect 3 game when it releases on Wii U.

The former retail game from Ignition and Renegade Kid is going the way of Order Up.
Planet Crashers 3D, from Ignition and Renegade Kid, is eschewing its retail aspirations and heading directly to the 3DS eShop in North America on July 26 for $10.
Originally set for a March 2012 retail release, Planet Crashers 3D, much like Ignition's Order Up!, was delayed and shifted to the eShop. While Order Up! actually did come out on cartridge in Europe, Planet Crashers 3D has yet to be released in any region.

150 coins can get you Q-Games' minimalist tower defense DSiWare game on 3DS.
Starship Defense is now available as a North American Club Nintendo reward for 150 coins until July 29, replacing Electroplankton Rec-Rec, which was available from July 1 to July 15. It can only be downloaded on 3DS systems.

Nintendo also detailed some other recent records for their various products.
Nintendo of America announced that the Nintendo 3DS has now sold over 5 million units in the United States.
According to Nintendo's executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, Scott Moffitt, the Nintendo 3DS is entering "the next phase of its life," with new hardware and new games coming in the near future. He believes this milestone is a great foundation to build on for the future.

CORRECTION: This story originally described the Deadpool game as confirmed for Wii U. However, the context surrounding the discussion of the Wii U at the San Diego Comic-Con panel appears to be more accurately attributed to Avengers: Battle for Earth. The Deadpool game still has no announced platforms.
