The people behind Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Country Returns may be working with their third Nintendo franchise.
Texas-based Retro Studios could be working on a Star Fox game for Wii U to be revealed at this year's E3, according to a rumor on Techtroid.
The source told the site that while the game is indeed being worked on and will be revealed at E3, it will not be a launch title for the system. They cite Retro as saying that "It's a project everyone wants us to do."

Shin'en's next 3DS eShop title is coming out on May 24 in Europe.
Art of Balance TOUCH! is launching on the eShop on May 24, according to a page on Nintendo Channel UK.
The game, developed by Shin'en, is a sequel to a WiiWare title where players try to complete various balancing-heavy physics-based puzzles. It will be Shin'en third 3DS game, following their eShop debut Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH and their Majesco-published retail release, Nano Assault.

Next week, Sega is bringing two releases in the Wonder Boy/Monster World series to Virtual Console.
Sega revealed today that Wonder Boy in Monster Land and Monster World IV will be arriving on Wii Virtual Console on May 10 in North America and Europe. Earlier today, Sega also debuted the arcade classic Super Hang-On on the download service.

Etrian Odyssey IV will make use of QR codes to exchange data with other players, as well as unlock additional content.
In the game, guild cards will keep track of various statistics, such as how many steps your character takes and what monsters you have defeated. Through StreetPass, you are able to exchange this data with other players, or by using a QR code.

Call of Duty may skip Nintendo handhelds this time around.
n-Space is not currently working on a Call of Duty game for Nintendo handhelds, according to n-Space founder Dan O'Leary via Twitter.
In response to a question asking whether n-Space was working on a handheld counter part to Call of Duty: Black Ops II, O'Leary said "we have no first person shooters in development at this time."

Get it before it becomes a legend.
The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary art book and story guide, Hyrule Historia, has once again appeared in Japanese bookstores online.
The book has been in such incredibly high demand that it has completely sold out on two separate occasions since its release last December, likely making this reprinting a strictly limited opportunity at best.

Wii U may be getting some Call of Duty love.
Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia, hinted at the possibility of a Wii U version of Black Ops II in an interview with PressFire.
When asked about a Wii U version of Black Ops II, Lamia said "Ah! We’re not... we’re only talking about the other platforms at this time. But here’s what I can tell you: Treyarch has a long tradition of working on the Nintendo platforms. A long tradition."

Not a confirmation, but this forum suggests a Wii version is real.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops II forum page includes a Wii forum, suggesting the existence of a Wii version of the recently announced first person shooter.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II was officially announced yesterday, but a Nintendo version of the game was not discussed. However, on the game's official website, there is a forum dedicated to a Wii version of Black Ops 2.

Well, at least there's PiCTOBiTS...
3D Classics: Urban Champion, Art Style: PiCTOBiTS, Snowpack Park, and Eco Shooter: Plant 530 are now available as May's downloadable Club Nintendo Rewards.
On the 3DS, Urban Champion is a simplistic one-on-one fighting game originally released on NES. On DSiWare, PiCTOBiTS is a mixture of puzzle games and NES properties. Both games cost 150 coins and both purchases are exclusive to 3DS owners.

Mario Tennis Open will hide some characters behind special QR codes, according to a recent press release. It's also confirmed that Baby Mario will be one of the game's unlockable characters.

Third-party publishers will be able to offer their games as both disc-based products and digital downloads, but Nintendo hasn't finalized the plans.
Third parties will likely have the option to put their retail games up for download on 3DS and Wii U, but Nintendo of America is still working on the details.
"We are currently preparing a program for third parties but have nothing specific to announce at this time," a Nintendo of America representative told us earlier today.

The hit racing game gets a sequel on the 3DS; no Wii U version announced.
Sega unveiled Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, the sequel to 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The game will be coming to the 3DS, the only Nintendo system to receive the game. It will be available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and PC Download.

Not many details were shown, but we finally have some really good footage of two new routes.
New footage of Keldeo, Pokémon, and early areas were shown off in the latest episode of Pokémon Smash.
During the footage, the legendary Pokémon Keldeo was shown fighting against Sewaddle in a new route as well as Growlithe in a new route surrounded by multiple towers and raised platforms connected by bridges. In a seperate double battle, Magby, Magnemite, Koffing, and two Sunkern were taking part.

Just heard this on the grapevine...
The 3DS will get a new Midnight Purple version in North America next month, Nintendo announced today.
The new grape-flavored variant is the fifth handheld color to join its multicolored brethren of Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Flame Red, and Pearl Pink since the system's launch last year, and will be hitting stores in the US on May 20, the same day that Mario Tennis Open launches. The retail price will be $169.99.
