Mario Kart 8 Runs at 60 FPS, Considered the "Definitive Mario Kart" WiiU

Mario Kart 8 did not receive the name just for its number in the series.

In a Nintendo Developer Direct, Mario Kart 8 was called the "definitive Mario Kart." Many other details were revealed.

Like Mario Kart 7, 8 will run at 60 FPS (frames-per-second) and will feature extensive online multiplayer. This time, Miiverse is utilized to create tournaments where you can set specific rules and play with friends. Miiverse is also used to share replay data.

Cut down trees and get your heart rate up in the next Super Smash Bros.!

In a developer interview on Nintendo's YouTube channel, Sakurai detailed several new features about the game, and spoke about the three new characters announced.

Both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash Bros. will feature the same number of characters, however, the 3DS version will have some exclusive stages based on handheld games such as The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and Nintendogs.

David Wise to Compose Soundtrack for Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze WiiU

One of the Rare in-house composers responsible for the original Donkey Kong Country's soundtrack is returning to the simian series.

Retro Studios Had a Hard Time Deciding Between Making a New Donkey Kong or Metroid Title WiiU

The ape beat out the bounty hunter.

Michael Kelbaugh from Retro Studios says that it was hard to decide between making a new Metroid or Donkey Kong game.

Revealed in a tweet by an ONM writer, Donkey Kong was chosen because Retro felt they had unfinished business with the franchise. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is one of this year's Wii U tent-pole games and a follow up to Retro's Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Will Feature Giant Bosses and an Easy Mode 3DS

Nintendo has revealed in a recent press kit that their upcoming 3DS game, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, will feature boss battles that entail turning your 3DS sideways; this will put a giant Luigi on one side and the boss on the other.

To help players there will also be a Hint System and Easy Mode, making the game more accessible.

During Nintendo's E3 software showcase, Sakurai confirmed that the female trainer from Wii Fit U will be playable in the new upcoming Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS.

New Bayonetta 2 Details Revealed WiiU

Bayonetta is packing some new attacks and a new control scheme in the much-awaited, Wii U sequel.

Several details emerged during today’s Nintendo Direct conference regarding PlatinumGames’ upcoming Wii U title, Bayonetta 2.

In addition to a new, shorter hairdo, Bayonetta will have several new moves. Most notable of which is her new ability to summon monsters called the Umbra Climax. Likewise, Bayonetta will have an ally named Jeanne that will assist her by using combination attacks.

A Link to The Past 2 Gets Official Title 3DS

The 3DS sequel to Link to the Past has a name: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Originally revealed at the last Nintendo direct, the new Zelda title will be inspired by the 2D Link to the Past, but with the usual stereoscopic 3D visuals of a 3DS game. This entry  will run at 60 FPS and is currently scheduled for a holiday release.

The famed developer is having another go at the DKC series.

It has been revealed that Retro Studios is the developer behind the new Wii U game, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

The game features simultaneous cooperative multiplayer and will bring back Dixie Kong as a playable character. The game will be released later this year.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U made its official debut appearance during the E3 Nintendo Direct.

In addition to returning characters such as Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, and Samus, the new challengers shown off were Villager, the protagonist of the Animal Crossing franchise, and Capcom's Mega Man, who fights with the powers of many classic Robot Master villains.

From the developer behind Xenoblade Chronicles comes a new open world game.

X, the new game from Tetsuya Takahasi's team at Monolith Soft , the developer of Xenoblade Chronicles, is coming in 2014.

X will feature a large open world which can be explored by players seamlessly. Not a whole lot is known about the game, but players will be able to ride, fight, and fly in giant human looking robot mech suits.

New Art Academy Title Announced WiiU

Nintendo will also release a new drawing tool for Miiverse users this summer.

A new Art Academy title inspired by Miiverse artists is currently in development for the Wii U.

While the game itself is still in development, Nintendo will release a drawing tool for the Wii U this summer that will utilize some tools from the full game. 

The new drawing tool will allow users to draw using pencils, colored pencils, and pastels. Players will then be able to post their drawings directly to Miiverse.

No specific date was announced, but Nintendo is taking the extra time to offer the best experience possible.
