Both North America and PAL regions popularity losers come back in a massive way.
Results from the weekend's Splatfest action in Splatoon:
Singing 274, Dancing 226 46-54, 57-43 At the Kelp Dome, the European Splatfest hit a high note for the scoring post 2.0 update. Although Dancing won the popularity poll by eight, Singing winning the battles by 14 points accounted for the winning margin. The previous high was 273-227 in Japan's Grasshopper v Ant event.

A new paradigm in soundtrack sampling awaits.
Nintendo's Xenoblade Chronicles X panel at PAX Prime has revealed North America's limited edition for the game.
The special package will include the game with special disc art, a matted art card, a 100+ page art book and a 10 track soundtrack sampler that comes on a custom designed USB drive. The edition has a MSRP of $89.99 (US$).

UPDATE: It would seem the Amiibo is legitimate.
UPDATE 12:20pm ET August 27: The Brighton branch of UK retailer GAME posted and deleted shortly thereafter a tweet announcing Shovel Knight Amiibo preorders would open tomorrow. The Amiibo was said to work "in future Yacht Club Games products for Nintendo consoles" and was part of a Shovel Knight series, but the art was not final. Original story follows.

It's pretty obvious what the big deal is going into PAX weekend - Runbow! The nine player indie runner launches today and will be the first game to pay off the Nindies @ Home program for North America. If you grabbed the demo the week of E3, you can get in even cheaper. Two hardcore shooters look to be headed to North America shortly
The ESRB has updated ratings for import N64 game Sin and Punishment as well as its Wii sequel, Sin and Punishment Star Successor.
The listing indicates that the two games will release on Virtual Console soon. The original game will be eligible for upgrade pricing for those who purchased the import version on Wii, while Star Successor's online leaderboards will not be available due to their use of the now-closed Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

According to Nintendo Inquirer, one of the missing pieces for the fall 2015 lineup may have fallen into place.
A PR obtained by Nintendo Inquirer has the board game releasing on November 13 in North America. The US$59.99 package will include the game, two Amiibo (Isabelle and Digby) and three Amiibo cards.

A second Just Dance title will be hitting the Wii U and Wii this holiday.
Just Dance: Disney Party 2 was announced by way of a trailer on Ubisoft's Youtube channel. Unlike the original (2012) game, this version has not had any animated songs announced, focusing on Disney Channel songs. Girl Meets World, Teen Beach 2 and Violetta are among the shows and films that will be represented in the game.

Kids, squids, Pokémon and Kirby villians up for grabs.
A new group of Amiibo restocks have been revealed by Nintendo's compliance with the United States Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act regulations.
Mixed in with the reveals of the upcoming Amiibo include a group of rare Amiibo restocks. The listing on Nintendo's website confirms the following will be restocked: All Splatoon Amiibo including the 3-pack, Toad, Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Lucario and Wario.
