While Nintendophiles in Japan are just getting their GBAs, there is some indication that Australia will get GBAs after everywhere else does. We've got the details!
Although Game Boy Advance was just released in Japan, it seeming that Australia won't get Nintendo's new handheld for some time after the U.S. June launch. Here's what EAGB reports:
"In my continuing harassment campaign of Nintendo Australia, a new date was given for the GBA launch - July/August. With Europe recently being told of a June release, it's looking like Australia may be one of the last countries on the planet to get a GBA.

Activision gives up the details on all of its upcoming GBA projects.
Activision has recently unleased a bunch of information on its forthcoming GBA titles.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - A handheld version of one of the best games ever. While it will be a scaled down version of what we've seen on other systems, this puppy looks amazing and supposedly plays just as well as any other version. Sweet.

Multiplayer on one cartridge GBA style...what's the deal? Planet GameCube breaks the issue wide open!
In the three TV commercials Nintendo’s been running for the GBA in Japan, they’ve been touting the “4 players on one cartridge” possibilities. After seeing EAGB’s report on the true issues about discrepancies with the possibilities of 4 players on one cartridge concept, I decided to look... Read more...

We've said it before; so has IGNPocket. Now IGNPocket has their GBAs and make 100% sure that US games can be played on import GBAs.
IGNPocket are some lucky mofos. While members of our staff have yet to get their GBAs, IGNPocket has already secured a couple new systems. Although we've said it a few times in the news and in our our GBA FAQ. IGN Pocket's GBA FAQ has stated this too. Still, there are people confused.

What're Fran and Matt doing at a Majesco's post-GBA event party?
After yesterday's Majesco Editor's Day press event, the cool company from beautiful Edison, NJ (not too far from my home town) held a private party at the Blind Tiger Lounge in San Francisco's Chinatown. So if it was a party after a GBA event...what were Matt Casamassina and Fran Mirabella from IGN Cube doing there? Damned if I know...but I doubt it had anything to do with free food and an open bar.

Revelations on the nature of the limited 4 player/1 cart mode in F-Zero clear up some info from yesterday's Majesco event.
At yesterday's Majesco event, there was a question regarding 4 player capability with 1 cartridge. It turns out Majesco wasn't quite sure how to pull it off yet. At the time, I thought it was a case of Nintendo not giving enough technical support to their developers, but it seems that the feat is... Read more...

Nintendo pulled a bit of a fast one on us.
I really really hate to be the bringer of bad news but oh well. After reading through Euro-Asia Game Boy's review on the Game Boy Advance I stumbled upon this paragraph.
Using the link cable extends the power of the AGB by allowing multi-player gaming. With 3 cables and 1 game cartridge, up... Read more...

We've gathered a bunch of pics. of what the Japanese launch looked like. Sure would have loved to have been there!
Plenty of people camped out overnight in Japan. The streets of Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Akihabara were filled with anticipation of the pending launch of Nintendo's new handheld, the Game Boy Advance.
Here's a glimpse of what it looked like!

Majesco showed off six GBA games at today's Editor's Day event, three of which were playable, and Ed was happy to get his grubby hands on them. Hands-on impressions!
Well, the Game Boy Advance launch is just around the corner and Majesco was kind enough to let members of the gaming media take a peek at what's in store. Of the games shown, 3 were fully playable: Earthworm Jim, Iridion 3D, and Pitfall: The Mayan Adventures. The others (Fortress, F-14 Tomcat, and Dark Arena) were briefly demoed but still needed some work before they were fully playable.

Well, Day 2 is over...and once again it's late, I'm tired, and I have to be up again in a few hours.
Day 2 has passed and it wasn't all that different from Day 1. And, like my pre-show impressions, I'm going to slack here so I can feed myself and get as much sleep as I can before waking up early again to hit Day 3. I'll certainly have to re-think the commute for next year. Anyhoo, the main Nintendo... Read more...

I've been pacing frantically in front of my computer for the past 48 hours or so waiting for any sign of shipping information on my import order.

Castlevania and Konami Krazy Racers on GBA are set for a European release...and you know what that means...
Konami of Europe will have Castlevania and Konami Krazy Racers (All-Star Wai Wai Racing in Japan) prepped for the European GBA launch. This is the first mention of either game being released outside Japan at all, and is probably an excellent indicator that they'll be available in North America either at launch or in the next few weeks.

Craig Harris from IGN Pocket has strived hard to make as many GBA size comparisons as possible. I think he did a fantastic job. I love Nintendo pop art.

Would you camp out overnight in the streets of Japan for a GBA? Of course you would.
Camping out over night in Japan for the GBA, or any system in my opinion would be an honor. Where it all happens. To be the first in the world to nab the tiny tendo badness. Hopefully stores in the US will allow this as well. Or have Midnight sales. Special thanks for Tendo Box for pointing this one out to me.
