Acclaim has announced its first five titles for GameCube – they won’t be at E3 but this is some great news! Get the list & our comments!

Last night, IGNCube reported back after some recon with Acclaim, who report that they (like many other third-party developers) will not have any GameCube on display at the show. However, Acclaim was all to happy to confirm it will release five titles for GameCube, all (tentatively) slated for release in November 2001.

The newest issue of NP has new info on the GBA-only version of the legendary magazine...and how it will affect subscribers.

The latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine has a notice regarding the upcoming sister publication, Nintendo Power Advance:

Here's some important information on the coolest thing to hit the net ever.

TendoGamers(one word), broke a story today about the state of Broken Saints. If you haven't heard yet, Broken Saints is a killer web based graphic novel. It follows the story of 4 totally different people from all across the globe. They story hasn't progressed much yet so there are no real plot details.

Here it is Friday, 4/20/2001 and I have a bunch of projects to work on and E3 stuff to organize before I can have weekend fun. Then Ty comes along and shows me a “l33t animation” and after I see it and show Justin, we decided it was SO COOL that we had to share it with all. At an official meeting this morning, Sega discussed their financial plan, and software development, among other things.

Mentioned was that Sonic Team (Phantasy Star Online, Sonic) and Amusement Vision (Daytona) are both currently working on GameCube titles. Also, other development groups, including Smilebit (Jet Grind Radio) and Hitmaker (Crazy Taxi) will probably be making GameCube games.

Sega sheds some light on its GameCube stance.

Sega announced in Japan today that two of their development teams, Sonic Team and Amusement Vision are currently working on games for the Nintendo GAMECUBE console. No titles have been announced yet, but are likely to be revealed at E3 next month.

Yamauchi speaks on Sega's involvement with Nintendo.

The game's lead designer shoots down reports that Galleon is confirmed for GameCube, but does not deny the possibility.

Although GameSpot VG reported the other day Galleon was confirmed by Interplay as a GameCube launch title (and the story was NOT reported as rumor), Confounding Factor's Toby Gard has denied it. In a statement to CVG, he says:

The developer of Tyrannosaurus Tex gives up on the handheld market in favor of PC development, citing the cartridge business model as the primary motivation.

A notice at Slitherine's website confirms that the incredible GBC first-person shooter Tyrannosaurus Tex still does not have a publisher. More sad news, folks.

GameBoyDojo was able to talk to an Eidos representative recently, and the topic of Eidos on Nintendo's new systems came up. Here is what GBDojo reported...

Today Eidos made it clear that there would be zero news, games, or announcements concerning Eidos's development on the Game Boy Advance or GameCube at this year's E3.

The giant publisher will be handling the release of Bomberman Tournament and Pinobee: Wings of Adventure in all non-Japanese markets.

The newly renamed Bomberman Tournament and Pinobee: Wings of Adventure, both published by Hudson Soft in Japan, will be coming to North America, Europe, and presumably Asia, courtesy of Activison. No word on whether these two will join Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 as launch titles in the U.S.

Japan only? Actually, looks like the mid-November for the U.S. thing could be official now too... UPDATED!

In the .com day and age, nothing can be worse than having your company get "delisted" from NASDAQ. Yet that same fate is about to befall Snowball, the parent of IGN, HighSchoolAlumni, and ChickClick.

According to NASDAQ regulations, when your stock trades below $1 for a period of time, NASDAQ can remove your stock from the index, or "delist" the company. Sure enough, Snowball has been trading under a dollar for some time now.

Nintendo to start its own eCommerce for selling GBA software in Japan…

Early this morning, Nintendo announced that will plans to start selling game software for its popular new handheld, the Game Boy Advance, over the Internet starting Friday. The effort is apparently an attempt to lure older players who frequently shop online, said a company spokesman.
