The biggest launch since the Wii in 2006 will take place in the city that never sleeps.
Nintendo will be hosting a massive launch event in New York City, starting on Saturday, March 26, 2011 and concluding on Sunday with the release of the 3DS. The event starts at 9:00pm at the Best Buy in Union Square, where attendees waiting in line will be able to try out the 3DS for the first time.

The upcoming Wii RPG has been delayed to an unknown date.
Kadokawa Games announced that its upcoming Wii RPG, Earth Seeker, has been delayed.
Originally set to be released in Japan on April 7, the game has been pushed to an unknown date due to "various circumstances."

Nintendo is not interested in doing business with garage developers.
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime reiterated Nintendo's stance on working not with "hobbyist developers." Noting the distinction between individuals making games in their free time and independent development houses, Fils-Amie stated that "[Nintendo is] absolutely reaching out to the independent developer."

The Nintendo 3DS gets its first 3D video content by way of system update.

The head of the 3DS project explains why the downloadable game service will not launch with the new handheld.
The eShop will not launch with the 3DS because of the complexity of the eShop service and Nintendo's desire for it to be fully ready prior to going live.
In an interview with Gamasutra, Hideki Konno explained the delayed launch of the service and discussed his experiences in designing the 3DS.

Nippon Ichi reveals details on its first Nintendo 3DS title.
Nippon Ichi Software is currently developing Bikkuriman Kanjyuku Haoh: Sanmi Douran Sensouki, a tabletop-style game for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game requires players to combine kanji, which are found on stickers, to make new words. For example, when you combine the kanji for ‘demon’ with the kanji for ‘king’, you get ‘demon king’, which has its own attack. The stickers are found in Lotte brand chocolate wafer packs.

A logo has appeared on the website alongside the other download services.
A webpage on Nintendo Greece's website appears to show the logo for 3DSWare. Clicking on the link leads to a page that lists "no products."
Little is known about the downloadable content service on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The "3DSWare" name was known to be trademarked by Nintendo in Japan and Europe, but the name has not been confirmed in an official capacity until now.

Nazo Waku Yakata makes use of 3DS graphics and sound.
Capcom announced a new 3DS title, called Nazo Waku Yakata, which is
a "sound adventure" game that doesn't use buttons, according to
Famitsu.
It takes place in a mansion that players must explore using the
touch screen, gyroscope, and microphone. The goal is to progress through
each room, which could take anywhere from three to eight minutes to complete.

Japan will get to play Capcom's next 3DS game this summer.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is coming to Japan on June 2, according to Famitsu.
The title will contain all the Mercenaries maps from Resident Evil 4

The latest issue of Famitsu confirms the grim details. UPDATED
UPDATE: A Konami spokesperson has told Wired.com that the status of upcoming Hudson titles has yet to be decided, and to wait for an official announcement. It seems that Famitsu had removed the game listings pending re-announcement from Konami, but did not explicitly confirm cancellations. This announcement is expected to come in time for E3 in June.

A sequel to the classic NES title will be appearing on an unspecified home console.
A sequel to the NES game River City Ransom has been announced to be released sometime in 2012 on the PC and an unspecified home console.
Miracle Kidz, who are also working on the recently announced WiiWare remake of Super Dodgeball, announced that members of the original development team will also be working in this new re-imagining of the series.

Nintendo has announced the delay of the upcoming Pokémon Global Link service in response to the earthquake that struck Japan two weeks ago. A statement on the Global Link's website attributed the delay to "the need to conserve energy resources."

Players will have to wait a bit longer before getting their hands on a new Megaman Legends demo.
Capcom announced today that their previously scheduled Nintendo 3DS event that was scheduled for March 29 in Japan has been canceled. Capcom stated the reason for cancelation was the earthquake that took place on March 11 as well as “the state of society” currently.The event would have featured playable demos of Megaman Legends 3, resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition.

In the very early morning on the European Nintendo 3DS launch day, a free 3DS game is on offer to the first to buy the handheld at either HMV Oxford Street, the flagship store for the UK launch, or at one of 13 additional 'VIP' launch stores. Additionally, there are over 1,300 stores confirmed to be opening at midnight on the night of March 24 for console sales starting from 00:01 on March 25.

Walmart is offering store credit on older handhelds, redeemable against the 3DS.
For the first time, Walmart will offer store credit for all versions of Nintendo DS consoles, redeemable against a purchase of a 3DS at launch. Older consoles will be accepted at various trade-in values for credit towards a 3DS at participating stores.
The "Take-Back and Trade-Up" is set to run as a trial from March 27 to April 30 in 12 states. The store credit values for each console are as follows:

Nintendo takes players to the wrestling ring then into the depths of the sea in this week's selection of games.
This week, Nintendo brings five new games across their download services. The first of these is a Virtual Console title, Natsume Championship Wrestling, originally for the Super NES. Priced at 800 Wii Points ($8), Championship Wrestling is a wrestling game for up to four players. They can choose from 12 different wrestlers and participate in tag team and round robin matches.
