A 3rd wave of Animal Crossing characters may be coming.
Updated Amiibo kiosks in North American retailers have revealed a few new Amiibo, and a couple of retail exclusives.
Target has revealed the Famicom-colored R.O.B. will be sold in America, and new Animal Crossing Amiibo will be made for Kapp'n, Rover and Timmy and Tommy Nook as a single Amiibo. The Nooks will be a Target exclusive.

Nintendo cops another Developer of the Year nomination.
The nominees for The Game Awards have been announced and Nintendo games have picked up several nominations.
Nintendo has been nominated for Studio of the Year, along with From Software (Bloodborne), Kojima Productions (Metal Gear Solid 5), Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout 4) and CD Projekt Red (The Witcher 3). Several games for Nintendo systems have also copped nomination, including a clean sweep of the Best Family Game nominations.

Donations under $50 will be laughed at, but kept.
Nintendo appears to be going in heavily with deals on Black Friday and US Thanksgiving week.
A heavy North American eShop sale will be on from November 25 - December 2. Although no games in specific are mentioned, deals will allow us to "save up to 50 percent on dozens of the best-reviewed games for the Wii U console and Nintendo 3DS family of systems". The list of games will be posted here on the day the sale begins.

And the next Smash video comes with it.
The newest 3rd party Super Smash Brothers has been announced, and neither squall nor lightning will stop him.
Cloud, originally from the 1997 PlayStation title Final Fantasy VII, will join the Super Smash Bros roster. No date has been announced, but it will also bring a stage based on the Midgar area of the game. Cloud was shown using some of his trademark moves, including summons and his Omnislash Limit Break as a Final Smash.

The worst kept secret in Nintendo history is official.
The Nintendo Direct opened with the reveal of the previously-leaked The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.
The remake will launch on March 4 and appears to be a remake of the 2006 GameCube version of the title. In addition, a Wolf Link Amiibo was announced to coincide with it, and data from the game will work with the original Zelda Wii U game releasing later in 2016.

Like last time, North America waits.
Bravely Second has been reconfirmed outside Japan, and Europe gets the title first again.
The title will release in spring 2016, while Europe will get the game in the first quarter of next year. Europe will receive a limited edition with a 250 page artbook, soundtrack and a figurine of Agnès from Bravely Default.

Trying to soothe the wait for Twilight Princess HD.
To try and soothe the pain of Zelda Wii U and Twilight Princess HD being 2016, Nintendo of Europe has added a couple of Zelda games to the Virtual Console.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks have both been released on Virtual Console in Europe following tonight's Nintendo Direct.

The availability of every Pokémon is getting pushed.
Additional details were given about Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon ahead of the game's release next week in North America and February in Europe.
As all currently released Pokémon are in the game, each one will have its individual quests made available through a system called the Galaxy Orb. The ability to request help from friends in the event of a party wipe was shown as well.

The localization agony will be strange, funny and heart-rending
Japan's Wii U Virtual Console will end the year with a bang.
Mother 3, the beloved 2006 GBA role playing game, will launch on the service on December 17.
The post-DS launched title has had numerous localization campaigns over the years, so it remains to be seen if Nintendo will release the game in English for Western audiences.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, a crossover between the Mario and Luigi and Paper Mario series, had a new trailer and details shown off during the November Nintendo Direct. A new card mechanic was shown off, giving the Bros. powerful new attacks. These cards can be unlocked with amiibo from the Super Mario series and feature art from Mario's long history.

Mega Man goes gold for his appearance on 3DS.
The Mega Man Legacy Collection will be released for Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 23. The game will be available both digitally and physically, though there will also be a special Collectors Edition of the game that comes with an exclusive Gold Mega Man Amiibo.
Both Mega Man Amiibo can be scanned in The Mega Man Legacy Collection to unlock 11 3DS exclusive challenges that aren't available in any other version of the game.

Nintendo confirms the Black Friday leaks.
Nintendo has confirmed its holiday deals, some of which have leaked previously.
The previously confirmed "Smash Splat" Wii U bundle will be joined by a 3DSXL bundle that includes the older model 3DS XL and a preinstalled copy of Super Mario 3D Land.
Both bundles will release on November 27 (Black Friday), and retailers are offering the Wii U bundle for between $249.99 - $279.99 and the 3DS bundle at $129.99.

The year of the 3DS RPG continues.
After a long wait and a summer tease, Dragon Quest VII and VIII will come to the 3DS in the West in 2016.
Dragon Quest VII, subtitled "Fragments of the Forgotten Past" will launch in Summer 2016, while Dragon Quest VIII "Journey of the Cursed King" will release before the end of 2016. VII released in Japan in early 2013, while VIII launched last August in Japan.

They're still releasing things on 3DS Virtual Console. Shocking.
Nearly a year after its last release, three more games will come to the 3DS Virtual Console.
Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow versions will release on the Nintendo eShop on the 20th anniversary of the games: February 27, 2016. The games will be true to the original games, glitches and all - except for trading, which will be handled by the 3DS wireless connection instead.
