The free content for Splatoon will finish as promised tonight, with one last new stage.
Ancho-V Games, purportedly the developers of the smash hit Squid Jump, will drop tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern. The fans that cool the coders and their PCs also provide movement boosts both horizontally and vertically.

Nine games and some awesome box art.
Sega has been teasing something classic, and we now know that it's a 3D Classics collection for the 3DS.
Releasing on April 26 for US$29.99/C$44.99, the collection includes 9 games - four of which are not currently available on the eShop: Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2, Maze Walker and Fantasy Zone III: The Tears of Opa-Opa. The previous 3DS releases are Fantasy Zone II W, Sonic the Hedgehog, Thunder Blade, Galaxy Force II and Altered Beast.

You'll be able to get Isabelle without a game
Some frustratingly rare or bundled amiibo will soon be easier to get.
The Pokémon amiibo were confirmed today to have a reprint for the 20th anniversary of the franchise and for Pokkén Tournament's release on March 18. Charizard, Lucario, Greninja and Jigglypuff are expected to return to the wild.

The ones you'd expect
The title characters for Mario and Sonic at the Rio Olympics 3DS will be able to use performance enhancers without copping a four year ban.
Mario and Sonic amiibo will work with the March 18 3DS title, and players will be able to tap each character once per day to unlock different powers. It appears the powers will change on a daily basis.

Europe is also getting hardware, and we know the amiibo dungeon's name
The Wolf Link amiibo will work in more than just Wii U Zelda games.
Nintendo sent out a press release confirming new information about amiibo today, and it confirmed that Wolf Link will not only work in Twilight Princess HD and Zelda Wii U (still slated for 2016 on Wii U), but it would work in Hyrule Warriors Legends as well. Weapons for Midna will be unlocked in a fashion similar to using Link or Ganondorf amiibo.

Still taking off in April.
Star Fox Zero will have amiibo support at its April launch.
In a communication which reiterated the ttile's April 22 release in North America, Nintendo confirmed that there will be support for amiibo, with more details to be revealed "at a later date".
Fox and Falco amiibo have already been released as part of the Smash Bros series.

Two mid-2000s classics coming tomorrow
Nintendo's game page has revealed tomorrow's Virtual Console titles, and you'll be running and exploring the weekend away.
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Zack and Wiki: Quest For Barbaro's Treasure will release with tomorrow's eShop update. Mario will be $7.99, while Zack and Wiki will be $19.99 US/$24.99 in Canada. Mario will include the e-reader levels directly from the title screen.

From exploration to dragon slaying, 2016 is the year of the RPG on the 3DS.
Some other announcements came out of tonight's 3DS RPG Showcase in San Francisco, aside from the Fire Emblem and Bravely Second news.
Final Fantasy Explorers - launching a week from today on the 26th - will include all of the DLC from the Japanese version in the base game.

If you're not spending enough on the limited edition...
Nintendo has confirmed the DLC plans for Fire Emblem Fates as well as a New 3DSXL with Fates badging.
The hardware will launch at standard New 3DSXL pricing on February 19, and will not include the game as a result. The season pass will be available on day 1 that will give 11 new maps at a price of $17.99, with each map coming out weekly. The Revelations (3rd) version will launch on March 10.

Just don't go into Default paying for the limited edition.
Bravely Second will land in Spring, and North America will get the giant limited edition.
The sequel to the 2014 surprise hit will release in North America on April 15, with the demo from Japan Releasing shortly before. The limited edition with the soundtrack and 250pg artbook will also be releasing on the same day, though Nintendo later clarified that the North American edition will not have the statue the European edition had..

Famitsu confirms some of the rumors of last week
More Twilight Princess HD information has emerged from this week's edition of Famitsu, including confirmation of last week's rumor.
The magazine confirmed that the Wolf Link amiibo can be tapped at a certain time to unlock a new dungeon whose name roughly translates to "Thorough Battle: Trial of the Beast". The reward for clearing the dungeon is a "bottomless" wallet with a 9999 Rupee capacity.

Telltale is back on Nintendo consoles after a few years away.
Following last month's Wii U debut of Minecraft, its highly successful adventure game spinoff will launch this week on Wii U in North America.
The game will launch with Thursday's eShop update, at a MSRP of US$4.99 for one episode or $19.99 for a five episode season pass. The remaining episodes will release shortly after, and based on release patterns from other platforms the full season should be available in short order.

The Pokémon Company is continuing its pattern of worldwide releases with Pokkén Tournament.
The Wii U fighting game will launch worldwide on March 18 (19th in Australia). The date was confirmed for Japan in last November's Nintendo Direct, but the date was originally given as "Spring" for the rest of the world.

Super Mario Maker has added two new event courses this week with oft-requested characters.
The two event courses added a pigeon named Yamamura, who is legendary as a level creation tutor, and Super Mario Land star Princess Daisy to the roster. Both event courses to unlock the characters are live now.

Four new fighters have been revealed for Pokkén Tournament, bringing the playable field for the title to 16.
In addition to confirmation that Mewtwo is playable outside of its dark form, the new fighters are the brutal melee fighter Garchomp, magical master Braixen and killer ceiling fixture Chandelure joining the roster.
