There's only two legit awards being handed out this week and it's Switch eShop Kusoge of the Year and *radio edit* of the Year. Congratulations to Funko Fusion and Funko for taking down itch.io.
Things we missed last week: It was good and bad in equal measure as North America went +23, as The Thing Remastered dropped from NightDive and City Bomber from Konami was the Archives release. Unfortunately, that was balanced out by Antonblast's Switch port coming in so hot due to Helene and Milton that we don't know if it's coming out this year, and Funko Fusion actually released so no joy there.

This Kong expansion really should have been all in one shot, y'know?
It's three weeks, four simians for the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy library.
As has happened the last two weeks with its predecessors, Donkey Kong Land III is now available in the Game Boy library. The 1997 release was the third in a series of bespoke Game Boy adaptations of the Donkey Kong Country series, Land III sees Dixie and Kiddy Kong set out to find the "Lost World" before K. Rool, Donkey Kong, and/or Diddy Kong can.

If you could switch between themes with the DLC single player mode mid-match it'd truly be like 1990 in here.
The NES version of Tetris on NSO wasn't the only Tetris related announcement that rode the wake of Tetris Forever's reveal, and the other announcement will actually drop first.
A Tetris 99 Maximus Cup that uses the theming of NES Tetris was announced in the same partner showcase, and that will... Read more...

If this becomes a regular thing, that's cool.
As happened last week Monday has given a couple of news items for basic Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
Following the reveal in August's Partner Showcase, Nintendo has given a "December 12th" (usually meaning the night of the 11th for North America) date for the NES version of Tetris being added to the NSO library. One of the more popular console ports of the classic puzzler, it was announced alongside last month's Tetris Forever.

Two thousand five hundred games. WOULD SOMEBODY STOP THE DAMN SPAM.
Things we missed last week: In a +19 week for NA, we got a surprise drop of 3DS refugee Ironfall Invasion (review forthcoming from John, here's hoping this one doesn't have to get yanked for an epic security hole), and the rare Fantastic Night Dreams Cotton was the Archives release.
That +19 means... Read more...

It's the end of a season that apparently starts by dumping Sinistea into the waters of Undella Bay.
Following last weekend's Wild Area event in Pokemon Go, the next weekend event will have a distinct Unovan flair.
The Pokemon Go Tour: Unova has been announced as the capstone to a Unova themed season called "Dual Destiny" in the game. It will have in-person events in New Taipei City, Taiwan and... Read more...

You probably forgot this one existed, didn't you.
For the first time since June 27/28, 2023 the Genesis library for the Switch Online expansion pack has added new games. The new additions are:
MERCS (1991) is a run and gun shooter originally published by Capcom in arcades, with the Genesis collection adding a new "Original" mode option but foregoing...

Ah yes, the "water torture" method of game releases.
A pair of the benefits for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have updated tonight, with one on a very rapid turnaround.
The Game Boy library has added Donkey Kong Land 2 to the library tonight. The Game Boy rendition of Donkey Kong Country 2 follows last Thursday's release of the original Donkey Kong Land.

Featuring "the fandisc for the game I lost a bet and paid over odds to play".
Things we missed last week: The retcon specialist Life is Strange: Double Exposure dropped digitally, and Taito's boxing title Final Blow was your Archives release.
Thanksgiving week should mean a dearth of NoA shadowdrops, but so I thought in previous weeks and we still ended up going +20 so who... Read more...

Plus one for hitting a relevant anniversary, but whither the other two?
After three Expansion Pack updates in October, November has a solo game for the regular tier Switch Online libraries.
Donkey Kong Land (1995) is now available in the Game Boy library. The game is a bespoke Game Boy version of the original Donkey Kong Country, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this week.

If you're looking for the sales there's a separate article for that tomorrow.
Things we missed last week: Most importantly, The Rise of the Golden Idol released on Switch. Hopefully, with much fewer bugs than The Case had. There's also a new Beyblade game which launched worldwide for some reason (and only with the season pass for one very obvious reason), and Konami's Table Tennis - the official name - in the Archives.

Things we missed last week: The Vs series game The Quest of Ki (from Namco) in the Archives. And nothing else that wasn't covered on RFN 900.

Yes, we're aware it says "20XX" for the Switch successor's launch date, you don't need to point that out.

You know, if you want to remove the asset flips and AI generated stuff, that'd be swell.
Nintendo has dropped some big news for the successor to the Switch today.
At their Corporate Management Policy briefing today following the release of the company's Q2 2024-25 results, it was confirmed that the Switch's successor console - whatever it may be - will feature "full support" for Switch software, as well as Nintendo Switch Online carrying over.
