The release of La-Mulana, an independent 2D-platform game, in North America and Europe has been canceled, publisher Nicalis confirmed over Twitter recently.

Wii U may be getting some Call of Duty love.

Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia, hinted at the possibility of a Wii U version of Black Ops II in an interview with PressFire.

When asked about a Wii U version of Black Ops II, Lamia said "Ah! We’re not... we’re only talking about the other platforms at this time. But here’s what I can tell you: Treyarch has a long tradition of working on the Nintendo platforms. A long tradition."

Not a confirmation, but this forum suggests a Wii version is real.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops II forum page includes a Wii forum, suggesting the existence of a Wii version of the recently announced first person shooter.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II was officially announced yesterday, but a Nintendo version of the game was not discussed. However, on the game's official website, there is a forum dedicated to a Wii version of Black Ops 2.

Nintendo of America E3 Press Conference Date and Time Confirmed WiiU

Well, at least there's PiCTOBiTS...

3D Classics: Urban Champion, Art Style: PiCTOBiTS, Snowpack Park, and Eco Shooter: Plant 530 are now available as May's downloadable Club Nintendo Rewards.

On the 3DS, Urban Champion is a simplistic one-on-one fighting game originally released on NES. On DSiWare, PiCTOBiTS is a mixture of puzzle games and NES properties. Both games cost 150 coins and both purchases are exclusive to 3DS owners.

More Characters Unlocked Through QR Codes in Mario Tennis Open 3DS

Mario Tennis Open will hide some characters behind special QR codes, according to a recent press release. It's also confirmed that Baby Mario will be one of the game's unlockable characters.

Nintendo Is Hashing Out The Details for Third-Party Retail Digital Distribution 3DSWiiU

Third-party publishers will be able to offer their games as both disc-based products and digital downloads, but Nintendo hasn't finalized the plans.

Third parties will likely have the option to put their retail games up for download on 3DS and Wii U, but Nintendo of America is still working on the details.

"We are currently preparing a program for third parties but have nothing specific to announce at this time," a Nintendo of America representative told us earlier today.

The hit racing game gets a sequel on the 3DS; no Wii U version announced.

Sega unveiled Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, the sequel to 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The game will be coming to the 3DS, the only Nintendo system to receive the game. It will be available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and PC Download.

Pokémon Smash Shows off New Pokémon Black and White 2 Footage DS

Not many details were shown, but we finally have some really good footage of two new routes.

New footage of Keldeo, Pokémon, and early areas were shown off in the latest episode of Pokémon Smash.

During the footage, the legendary Pokémon Keldeo was shown fighting against Sewaddle in a new route as well as Growlithe in a new route surrounded by multiple towers and raised platforms connected by bridges. In a seperate double battle, Magby, Magnemite, Koffing, and two Sunkern were taking part.

Midnight Purple 3DS Announced 3DS

Just heard this on the grapevine...

The 3DS will get a new Midnight Purple version in North America next month, Nintendo announced today.

The new grape-flavored variant is the fifth handheld color to join its multicolored brethren of Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Flame Red, and Pearl Pink since the system's launch last year, and will be hitting stores in the US on May 20, the same day that Mario Tennis Open launches.  The retail price will be $169.99.

Not every game will be available for download, Nintendo of America revealed.

Engine software's side-scrolling shooter lets players rotate the game world to get past obstacles, and we have an exclusive first look at the game's trailer.

Engine Software's upcoming side-scrolling shooter Flip The Core was described as labor of love at GDC, where Nintendo World Report first became aware of the game's existence. The developer's self-published side-scrolling shooter appears to "flip" the side-scrolling genre around by allowing players to rotate the game world, repositioning obstacles and enemies to get through dead-ends and tight spots.

Nintendo Reveals Sales Forecasts for Wii, DS, 3DS WiiWiiUDS

Nintendo says things are looking up for 3DS. For DS and Wii, however...

Software and hardware sales forecasts regarding 3DS, DS, and Wii were revealed by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata at the recent investors meeting.

On the 3DS front, Nintendo predicts a 100 percent increase in software sales and an increase in hardware sales of almost 40 percent from the previous fiscal year. "From this fiscal term, we will be in the harvest time for the software sales of the Nintendo 3DS," Iwata explained.

UPDATE: Iwata dismisses possibility of "gatcha-type" sales of mystery items.

Nintendo is not and will not be in the business of selling mystery "gatcha-type" items as DLC according to CEO Satoru Iwata. As an example, Iwata said that Nintendo would "continue to make efforts to avoid such misunderstandings as, 'the next 'Animal Crossing' might be a game which relies upon add-on content sales.'"

3DS Full Game Downloads Tied to System 3DS

The rules for 3DS downloads aren't changing just because the game's also available on a card.

When Nintendo begins releasing full 3DS retail titles via eShop this August, those titles will be tied to the specific 3DS system that downloads them in much the same way that the eShop exists for download-only titles today.

3DS Internet Connectivity Rising

Japan and the U.S. have the highest connection rates.

The Japanese and U.S. markets have seen a steady increase in 3DS internet connectivity to their current rate of 70%, Nintendo revealed during their end-of-the-year investor's meeting. 

This does not mean that 3DS owners in those two territories are necessarily playing games online, but only that they are actively connecting their systems to the internet. This rate is the highest that any of Nintendo's handhelds have ever achieved.
