Yes, it is weird to cover announcements from a Microsoft event on a Nintendo website.
Microsoft's X019 event kicked off in London today, with a pair of announcements relevant to Switch owners.
Raw Fury Games announced West of Dead, a new twin-stick shooter that will feature the voice acting talents of Ron Pearlman. Developed by Upstream Arcade, a studio helmed by former Lionhead developers, the shooter will hit Switch and other platforms next year.

After seeing #7 in the software charts, the News Editor needs a little bit of the bubbly.
The industry as a whole had a major letdown compared to last October according to the latest results from the NPD Group, but Nintendo keeps on rolling along.
Unless noted, all figures are based on dollar sales in the reporting period of October 6 to November 2.
For the tenth month in a row, the Switch was the best selling console in the United States, though a revenue split between the Switch Lite and the Switch was not available.

Everything Shovel Knight is three weeks away.
The latest blog post from Yacht Club Games have confirmed that the King of Cards expansion, Shovel Knight Showdown (Wii U and Switch only), the three Shovel Knight boss Amiibo, a golden Shovel Knight Amiibo, and the Switch physical version of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will all release on December 10.

Now you can get one save file per chapter.
A new update for Fire Emblem: Three Houses has added new features and launched the third wave of the Expansion Pass.
With the 1.1.0 update all players will receive twenty additional save files (5 -> 25), as well as the ability to wear the monastery outfits into battle. A new playable character is also available on one of the routes.

Obsidian's recent return to sci-fi is anticipating a landing on Switch early next year.
On their second quarter earnings call, Take Two (who are publishing the game through their Private Division label) provided an update on the Switch version of their sci-fi success, indicating a release by the end of the current fiscal year. The fiscal year for Take Two ends on March 31, 2020, suggesting a Q1 2020 release.

Terry Bogard will be a new challenger tonight.
The fourth pack of the Fighters pass and the fifth DLC fighter overall, Terry will launch later today along with version 6.0. His moveset features command options similar to that of Ryu's and "super special moves" that unlock when Terry is below 1/3 of his stamina or over 100% health. The pack will also include 50 music tracks from the entire history of SNK.

Save locations like Hong Kong with the Overwatch crew.
BlizzCon's opening ceremony closed on an expected announcement that the Switch will take advantage of.
Overwatch 2 was the last announcement of the show from Blizzard, and though no release date or window was given it has been confirmed for Switch. The key addition to the sequel will be a single player or co-op story mode featuring the Overwatch crew attempting to head off an assault from Null Sector.

Spooky scary skeletons will be easier to kill.
A long awaited performance patch for June's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now live on the Switch.
According to publisher 505 Games, input lag has been "eliminated throughout the game", making the game easier to play. The game has also received a major graphical overhaul: comparison screens can be found here. Crash bugs have been fixed, and the team has also lowered the load times for the game by a claimed 70%.

One major announcement has already emerged from Nintendo's Q2 shareholder briefing.
Mario Kart Tour will be adding multiplayer, with a beta test for the mode starting in December. It will only be available to holders of the US$5/month Gold Pass to begin with.
Although no specific figures were cited in the presentation, both downloads and active users are "both trending at the highest levels ever among our mobile applications".

Hopefully this theme is better than the Luigi's Mansion 3 one.
After Luigi's Mansion 3, there'll be a quick turnaround for the Maximus Cup.
A Pokémon Sword and Shield themed cup, complete with theme, will start running at 2 a.m. ET on November 8 until 1:59 a.m. ET on the 12th. As usual, the goal will be to unlock a new theme for the game by earning 100 competition points based on cumulative ranking.
