Four games for Europe and eight games for Australia and New Zealand lack any Nintendo titles.
Four games released today on Europe's Virtual Console conspicuously missing any Nintendo system titles. Three of the games originally come from the Sega Genesis. Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Dynamite Headdy, and Shining Force are now available in all PAL regions. Shinobi III is the only game not yet available worldwide; it has not yet seen a North American release.

Sega has announced a Japan release date and also a Ghost Squad and Wii Zapper bundle.
Sega has not only announced that Ghost Squad for the Wii will be released on October 25th in Japan, but also that it will also be available as a bundle with the Wii Zapper (apparently, you can also purchase the game without the Zapper). Nintendo accounts for over 70% of consoles sold in Japan last week.
Total Gamer Zone, reporting Japanese hardware sales figures for the week of July 23-29, shows Nintendo’s market domination in its home country is as strong as ever. The DS Lite leads the pack with a reported 150,494 units sold while the Wii follows in second place with 77,169 consoles sold. The DS Lite and Wii combined are responsible for just shy of 74% of all console sales for the week.

Aonuma lets it slip that his team has been asked to create character designs for Sakurai.
It turns out the Smash Bros. Dojo isn't the only place where we can find out new details on everyone's most anticipated game. Game Informer Online's (and Nintendo World Report's founder) Billy Berghammer has learned from Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma that Sheik and Ganondorf will be playable characters in the upcoming Wii all-star fighter, Super Smash Bros. Karmarama will be the new force behind Nintendo's creativity in advertising.
Advertising agency Karmarama will soon be in charge of Nintendo's $26.5 million advertising account. Marketing Week magazine got the scoop, stating that the firm has apparently won the account over three other ad agencies. Some of Karmarama's previous and current clients include Amstel Beer, Goodyear Tires, the History Channel and CNN.

Word is that Nintendo's SVP of Marketing and Corporate Communcations is calling it a career.
GameDaily.biz is reporting that it has heard from an industry source at a major publisher that George Harrison, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, has made it known via a voicemail message that he soon be announcing his "early retirement." Harrison has been with Nintendo since 1992.

Either Nintendo has increased supply or demand has dropped, but either way Wiis are getting easier to come by in the motherland.
Since its release on Decemeber 2 of last year, Wiis have been perpetually sold out in Japan (and in every other region, for that matter). However, Akiba Blog, a major Japanese gaming blog, has observed that Wii consoles are starting to become more available than they have in previous months. Stores in Tokyo have been observed to have quite a bit more units in stock than they normally due. Is this a sign that Wii demand is waning a bit?

Perrin Kaplan hasn't left Nintendo yet, but a recent job posting makes it seem like the end is nigh for her.
Nintendo has posted a job opening on employment website Taleo.net for the position of Vice President of Corparate Affairs. This position is currently occupied by Perrin Kaplan, who has been with Nintendo since 1992. The posting comes amid word of several of Nintendo of America's executive officers leaving the company due to the impending move of Nintendo's sales and marketing divisions being relocated to the San Francisco and New York areas.

According to a recent review of Activision's 1st Quarter sales, analyst group Janco is predicting new peripherals for future Guitar Hero games.
Guitar Hero fans may see a few new peripherals added to their favorite rhythm title some time in 2008. Analyst group Janco, who recently covered Activision’s first quarter earnings, said that it expects the company to compete directly with MTV/Harmonix’s upcoming Rock Band by releasing new peripherals for inevitable Guitar Hero sequels.
